Tap at the pub...I think. My brief notes say "stout", but I clearly didn’t note "South Main". Black liquid with beige head, good retention. Aroma smacks of soy and liquid smoke, above charred malt body. Flavor is slightly licorice, a touch of strong coffee, and that mean little beast, soy sauce. Overly thin body, not particularly fitting as a stout.

At Socorro Springs as their house stout. Medium brown. Basic chocolate/toast and light roast aroma. Thin. Husky flavour of toast and not all that much else. Disappointing.

Draft @ Socorro Springs. Isn’t black all the way through, could use more depth of color. Mild thin weak coffee brewed, no roast in aroma. Painfully thin with no depth and no roast. Almost flavorless like weak watery coffee. Licorice in finish is nice though.

BeerandBlues2 (6096) - Lone Tree, Colorado, USA - NOV 6, 2009
Draught. Pours black with a small, fizzy light brown head, somewhat diminishing with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (burnt grain, chocolate, coffee), light hop (grass), average yeast (leather) with notes of prune and tar. Medium bodied, oily texture, average carbonation, and a metallic finish. Average duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness.
