Vom Fass @Bieramt, Wien. Unclear dark amber. Dense tanned head. Perfumey fruit aroma, some banana and hint of yeast. Mellow, light sweet and wheaty malt flavor. Pretty nice fruitiness, yellow fruits and mild citrus. Mid-bodied. Very soft in the mouth. Fruity endnotes. Harmonious and easy on the palate.

UPDATED: APR 30, 2012 Bottle from Austria. Poured pale brown colour with realatively stable pale white head. Banana and hefe in the nose, some roasted malt, moderate aroma. Mild, silky taste, though it has a strong banana feel with some dark traces. light bitter. A very good one from Kaltenhausen, I like this one much better than the average Edelweiss hefe.

500ml Bottle. Appearance is copper-brown color with medium, foamy tan head. Aroma is pleasant with strong spice element with hints of fruit. Taste has a strong roasted grain and wheat base along with some fruit notes and a strong spice character. There’s some unpleasant earthiness and mineral taste that’s present. Palate is medium-bodied, smooth texture, average carbonation, and a weak, somewhat bitter finish. An okay Dunkelweizen but nothing to write home about.
