500ml Bottle. Appearance is copper-brown color with medium, foamy tan head. Aroma is pleasant with strong spice element with hints of fruit. Taste has a strong roasted grain and wheat base along with some fruit notes and a strong spice character. There’s some unpleasant earthiness and mineral taste that’s present. Palate is medium-bodied, smooth texture, average carbonation, and a weak, somewhat bitter finish. An okay Dunkelweizen but nothing to write home about.

Bottle from 05 June 2011, best by 10.2011. Nose of dark malt and tons of bubblegum phenolics, and, just a touch from the bottle neck, a hint of popcorn. Hazy orange-tinted brown with a short beige head. Crisp but muddled taste, slight bananas creeping in under the slimy yeast tones after the phenolic compounds have backed way off. Light acidity, finishes smoothly on an ice-cream-cone note, creamy aftertaste from medium-full body. OK.
