UPDATED: NOV 18, 2003 Bottled. Orange to brown body, not too hazy, under a frothy head. This was an older bottle, so some of the haze may have been in the sedimentation. Retains a hint of dark roasted flavor, but lots of tiny bubbles from the wheat. German hops pretty well balanced.

Dark version of the popular Edelweiss Weissbier, with a rocky, thick, creamy, stable, yellowish head and dark amber to brown colour with ochre hue, cloudy. Agreeable aroma of cloves, chocolate, banana, cinnamon, apple peel, caramel, white pepper. Soft fruity taste with banana and red apple, sharpish, refreshing carbonation, middle phase malty with chocolate, wheat and yeast, smooth and creamy mouthfeel, finishing softly sweetish, not cloying, little hops. Exemplary Dunkelweizen and a good introduction to the genre: not too difficult, faithful to the style and relatively easily available.

Appearance with copper color, cloudy liquid and medium head. Caramel and roasting flavor. On the palate, sweet roasted malt is well perceived. It is a good Dunkel Weizen.

Draft @ Biergarten, Tivoli, Copenhagen. Pours a hazy brown with a light tan head. A bit of lacing. Aroma is banana, yeast and wheat. Flavous is the same, as well as sweet and with a floral note. Finish is yeast and with a bit of alcohol, bordering on grainy. Light tart note as it warms. A bit too much carbonation. Overall a decent beer, and a good version of the style. 24.04.14.
