3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Head: off-white, big, creamy, avg. retention. Colour: dirty golden, cloudy.
Aroma: banana, clove, yeast. Taste: wheat sourness, not much fruitiness or spiciness.
Quite decent, but somewhat watery and lacking the clovy spiciness, compared to most weizens.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
500ml bottle - Thanks Maret!
Quite bold spicey hefe aroma - lots of clove, coriander seed, orange and banana. Pale wheat colour, slightly cloudy, brief tight head. Pretty servicable hefe taste too. Plenty of wheat, banana, some spice, just a tiny sour hint, and a little minerally wateriness. Simple palate, fullish, but nothing special. Finish wheaty, but also some nice herbal hops. After their last wheat beer, I wasn’t expecting much at all, but this is a pretty solid hefe.

(bottle) pours a murky golden colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of wheat, cheesecake and caramel, with a light hint of floral hops, some yeast, heavy banana and vanilla. flavour is mostly the same, lots of cheesecake, banana and subtle spices, clove, cinnamon and vanilla, with a semi-dry floral-hoppy finish. slightly watery body with average carbonation. awesome stuff!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle, best by July 20, 2014, poured into a weizen glass. Pours hazy golden with big bright white head. Aroma is banana with some bubblegum, light body, well carbonated, and some big bubble lacing. Taste is lighter spice (mostly clove), some banana, and some bubblegum. Hoped for more richness in body and taste, but pretty sessionable.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This stuff is OK but there are certainly better hefeweizens to be had. It is a cloudy orange golden color w/ a relatively long-lived head of mixed bubbles. Cloves and bananas hit first in the nose and are followed by a nice bit of grassy hops. This is full bodied with moderate carbonation. It is a bit sweet which brings out some juiciness from the banana but also makes it feel a bit heavy. It finishes w/ a lingering malty bit of sweetness and some clovey spice. I got this right before the best before date, meaning it is probably pretty old. Given that it is still pretty good, I’d be pretty excited to find a fresh example some day.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Murky orange with a big fluffy white head. Mild aroma of yeast, citrusy fruitiness, bananas. Taste is also mild, similar to the aroma. Some herbs there too. A bit on the light side, yet refreshing and very drinkable.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap for 15 bucks a pint at a Hong Kong bar with the feel of a beach shack... not even on the island. Definitely one of the better ones in the style I’ve tried, very fresh, fruit is more tangerine than banana, nice hoppy finish.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Moderate grain and white bread for the malt, light to moderate lemon for the herbs and dough for the yeast, with hints of banana and clove. Head is large, frothy, white with good slippery lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is hazy yellow. Flavor starts slightly sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes faintly bittersweet. Palate is on the lighter side of medium, a little slick and has a lively carbonation and a dry finish. A bit more refreshing than most German Hefeweizens.
