Slightly hazy golden coloured body with a very thick white head that fades fairly fast and leaves a nice thin lace on the side of the glass. Aroma of pale malt, yeast, lemon, coriander seed and a touch of curacao. Medium-bodied; Spicey allspice, anise, nutmeg, cardamom and even cloves tucked in this - a strong spice character when the smell and appearance don’t predict the taste. Aftertaste shows the spice throughout with a good wheat/malt backbone, some yeast and a tiny bit of curacao and lemon sweetness. Overall, a good beer that probably would show well on a mountain after a day of skiing or even on a nice summer day. I definitely liked this and would recommend it to others to try! I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from the LCBO in Toronto (Summerhill), Ontario, Canada on 11-October-2009, sampled at home in Washington on 21-January-2010.

Strong sweet aromas of wheat, cloves and citrus. Pours the typical hazy yellow with a frothy white head. Flavors were a little weak but consisted of banana, bubblegum, wheat and slightly tart citrus. Creamy mouthfeel with a sweet finish. A surprisingly excellent Hefe.

Odd aftertaste on this one. Maybe there was something wrong with the bottle, because i’ve never tasted a beer that I just could’nt drink up. hmm.

Bottle from the local Liquor Mountain discount shop. Spices big in the nose, honey, banana. Cloudy dull yellow. Light artificial chemical banana flavors, which rise to the nose like a bad cologne... Very thin. The aroma is a lot better than the flavors. As if they didn’t have enough malt or unmalted wheat to balance the spice. A bit repugnant, really. Like a soft drink for children. Uh-uh... Well, it’s not exactly drain pour, but almost.

Slightly hazy pale yellow. Quite a sedate head. Aromas of yeast, apple. Taste has funky yeastiness, sharp, sour apple and spice. Unusual flavours. Something coniferous. Tiny bit of banana? Odd. All adds up to something reasonably compelling though.

0.33l bottle @ Kalfaret Brygghus. A light blurry golden-yellow Weiss with a big almost massive - dense and lasting white head. The aroma is light hefe-yeasty with lots of wheat and some hints of both cloves and flowers. Oh, this tastes bubblegum Deluxe. Really wheaty with both cloves and yeast, but that sweet bubblegum really explodes in the mouth. A nice one and quite different. 16.02.2012

Bottle at Dickens in Sarpsborg, Norway 03 march 2012. Light hazy yellow colour with a small white head. A unusual mild flavour with somw wheat and light citric. Also a mild flavour with some banana and wheat. Would have expected a bit more from an Austrian hefe weisse.

Bottle @ Kalfaret Brygghus. Slightly hazy straw yellow body with a creamy medium white head. Aroma is mineral salts, banana, Norwegian Christmas soda ("julebrus" - artificial cherry/red berry-like stuff) and hints of citrus fruits. Taste is citrus, banana, clove and hints of hay. Filling mouthfeel. A bit sweet for my tastes, but a pretty decent, average weizen; slightly overrated IMO.

Draught at Little Prague, Tel Aviv. Pours clear golden with dense white head. Aroma: dried banana, bubblegum. Taste: sweet, some bitterness with a hint of sour, but sweetness is dominant here. Thin body, slick texture, lively carbonation, long finish - balanced and fun.

33 cl bottle @ Hullu Poro
Stale and sweet aroma with wheat, citrus and some banana. Flavour is somewhat tart and sweetish with citrus, some wheat and hints of banana. Straightforward, but refreshing and nice.
