COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our ’St Andrews Blonde’ has a positive attitude about it. Not many will sit on the fence with this one. Scott reckons it is his favourite.
It is full of personality which is consistent with it’s ingredients and their origins. The primary hop is the galaxy hop from Australia which has a strong fruit flavour range which covers a spectrum from apricot to pineapple, yet has a balancing grapefruit bitterness on the palate. We reckon his beer has stacks of flavour and body but is hugely drinkable at just 3.8abv. Like the porter we can’t wait to get feedback from a wider group of discerning consumers on the blonde.
Whilst this beer is definitely one to be consumed and savoured on it’s own it also pairs well with cheese and game dishes.

330ml bottle from Stockbridge Farmers Market. Thin white head, no lacing. Body is clear golden. A hint of citrus on the nose but there’s not much there. Flavour is grass and straw with some honey sweetness, followed by biscuit. A little bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation.

33cl bottle. Sample from Victoria at Stockbridge Market. Pours golden with a nicely proportioned head. The nose has some tropical fruits - pineapple comes to mind - and some flowers. The taste is a little fresher with canned peaches and again flowers. The palate is unusual for this style - more texture than I’d expect with also more sweetness - this seems to be typical of this brewer - the finish is still fairly clean but not dominatingly bitter like most examples of this style. This brewer seems to like malts on an equal par with hops which is nice to see. I wonder how he gets such texture - oat malt maybe or is his final gravity a little higher than most? Very interesting.
