A West Coast original, this IPA has bold levels of hop aroma, bitterness, and flavor. Dry hopped in two stages to give it a piney, citrusy and soft fruit flavor to satisfy your hop cravings. Note: DO NOT confuse with the single hop versions.

Tap @TCBW2015. Clear golden color. Small size, white head, stays. Hops, oranges, citrus, sweet, bit dirty aroma. Oranges, citrus, malty, fruity taste. Fruity citrus in aftertaste. Soft bitterness. Soft carbonation.

Medium amber, cloudy body with a tiny head that disappears completely without leaving much lacing on the glass. The moderate aroma doesn’t live up to the name "Hoptimista" at all, this one is very gently hopped. I get some nice notes of tropical fruits, but it’s too faint. There isn’t much punch in the flavour either, but the gentle tropical fruity notes are pleasant, and a firm caramel background makes this a very well balanced brew. The taste is moderate bitter and moderate to light sweet. Pleasant mouthfeel with a moderate carbonation. A good one, but a bit too well balanced: I’d like an IPA to be heavier on the hops.

On tap at Apollon, Bergen. Close to clear deep amber with an off-white head. Fairly malty and caramelly aroma with distinct hoppy notes, mild tropical fruits and pine and hints of herbs and citrus. Medium sweet with fairly malty and moderately hoppy flavours and a nice bitterness. A bit too much on the sweet and malty side, but tasty and pleasant.

On tap @ Apollon, Bergen, shared with tfredvik. Pours a slightly hazy coppery amber body with a small white head. Aroma is mild red fruits, apricot, mild grass and hints of spruce and wine gum. Taste is red fruits, wine gum, mild caramel and hints of red berries and spruce. Medium body and carbonation. A bit non-descript, but fair enough I suppose.

Bottle. Dark copper, off-white head. Piney forrest, citrus fruityness and bit of green bitters in aroma. Creamy peaches as well. Nice, quite captivating. Bitter, blood grapefruity taste with additional malty hints. Some nuttyness and fruityness beneath that as well. Refreshing, just like an IPA should be and the drinkability is great here too.

Tap at Tallinn Craft Beer Weekend 2015. Dark amber colour, head big-bubbled and beige. Pretty good citrusy, marmalady, sweet, somewhat tart aroma. Tastes similar, very citrusy bitter yet nicely balanced by the thick (and not sugary) sweetness. Body medium, carbonation below average but with certain prickliness. Palate dryish. Pretty nice overall.

Amber colour with smallish head but lots of lacing. Aroma has pines, citrus, grass and grapefruit. Taste has lots of pines and bitter grapefruit. Sweet caramel malt is there too and some citrus. Quite bitter after taste. Medium body and medium carbonation. Nice hoppy IPA.
