Our Version of a West Coast original, this IPA has bold levels of hop aroma, bitterness, and flavor. Dry hopped in two stages to give it a piney, citrusy and soft fruit flavor to satisfy your hop cravings.

on tap at olbaren. steady amber with a lingering head; standard but pleasant aroma of pine forest dirt and citrus zest; decent whack of bitterness, crisp and clean but still quite complex

Dry, sprucey and resinous fragrance. Caramel and fruit (apricot) at the base of the brew. A very light liquorice note. The beer feels very soft in the mouth. The hops would like to make a few adjustments to that. Although it is the usual dry, sprucey and bitter notes, it is not expressed to an extreme degree, so it works quite well.

This was apparently the original Hoptimista and while a great beer, the two next generation Hoptimista definitely outshine their original. Had a chance to hang out I the tasting room and try all the different types.

Standard IPA (which is not a bad thing) which focuses on hops; very little malt presence. Citrus and pine is present and it is pretty bitter but not overly so. A straightforward beer that accomplishes its mission and is an easydrinker.

Aroma moderado para una ipa, ligeramente resinoso, en el sabor sorprende por la malta, acaramelada y perfectamente integrada con el lúpulo dominante y el final amargo. Alcohol moderado que invita buches largos.

Keg at the Earl of Essex - London. Pours lightly hazy amber-gold with a creamy off-white head. The nose has lightly toasted grains and pine, some wholegrain bread, hints of ripe orange. Medium sweet flavor with prominent toasted malt character, some dry caramel, stale pine, graham crackers, dried out citrus. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Toasted grassy bitterness to finish with more dry, toasty malts, grains, caramel, some leaves and orange rind. Not great.

Draught at Taphouse. Medium high lasting off-white fluffy head. Clear dark brown body. Sweet roasted malt fruity nuts aroma. A good deal of hops bitterness with pine. Low carbonation. Long dry and bitter finish.
