The very first beer we ever brewed, in winter, before we had full power supply, hence the name. It’s a Belgian classic fermented at high temperatures to bring out all those great saison yeast characteristics. Big aromas of fruit and spice carry through into the flavor. The result is hearty and complex, yet wholly drinkable.

Bottle. Dark orange color with huge off-white head. Gusher. Sweet malt, oranges, caramel in aroma. Sweet malty taste with caramel, oranges, tangerines, light citrus hops. Sweet fruity finish with very light bitter hops.

Bottle. Clear orange-amber colour. Immortal huge head. Lots of caramel in this one along with the saisony spiciness. Barnyard, egrese, light light tartness. Good one.

Was surprised to see this at a spot in SC. Picked it up based on recent Ratebeer awards for being one of the better new breweries in the world. One beer does not a full review make but this one sits at just ok for me. It’s a saison, has a nice pungent, little sour and fruity aroma. Flavor is a little over the top malt wise. Wild yeast and some light lemon flavors. Little bit of pepper spice. Drinkable for sure but nothing too extraordinary to seek out.

Bottle 330ml @ Sandar Haandverksbryggeri - Brygghuset, Sandefjord
Pours hazy deep golden/copper with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, yeast, pepper and some fruits. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long slightly dry, warm, pepper, yeasty and fruity finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

330ml bottle. Pours a clear, medium straw, with a white head. Fruity, spicy aroma, citrus, yeast, phenols, hops. Dry, medium body and bitterness, balanced CO2. Fruity, spicy taste, citrus peel, yeast, caramel, phenols. Quite clean and well balanced, but the alcohol shines through quite sharply in the finish. (2014-12-19)

draft at Blue Monk, Buffalo, NY. orangish pour, medium to fuller mouthfeel, fruity yeast, orange zest, mild spice, decent saison

It’s way over carbonated. Almost impossible to pour it to the glass. The head is enormous, white and super steady. The bear is clear, beautiful deap golden color. In aroma malts, spices, a bit of sourness and wildness. Mouth feel is ruined by huge carbonation. In taste alcohol is noticeable. Except that it’s malty, has a bit of spices but it might have more. Nice bitterness in the end. The alcohol warms you up from inside. In overall beer is quite good.

Keg at the 4th Copenhagen Beer Celebration, Session I, 01/05/2015. Lightly hazed orange with a decent faint beige covering. Nose is tangy citric peel, straw, bitter orange. Taste comprises tarte lemon rind, bitter orange, funk, yeast esters, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok saison but I’d expect a bit more depth ABV considered.
