COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The very first beer we ever brewed, in winter, before we had full power supply, hence the name. It’s a Belgian classic fermented at high temperatures to bring out all those great saison yeast characteristics. Big aromas of fruit and spice carry through into the flavor. The result is hearty and complex, yet wholly drinkable.

330ml bottle. Pours a clear, medium straw, with a white head. Fruity, spicy aroma, citrus, yeast, phenols, hops. Dry, medium body and bitterness, balanced CO2. Fruity, spicy taste, citrus peel, yeast, caramel, phenols. Quite clean and well balanced, but the alcohol shines through quite sharply in the finish. (2014-12-19)

It’s way over carbonated. Almost impossible to pour it to the glass. The head is enormous, white and super steady. The bear is clear, beautiful deap golden color. In aroma malts, spices, a bit of sourness and wildness. Mouth feel is ruined by huge carbonation. In taste alcohol is noticeable. Except that it’s malty, has a bit of spices but it might have more. Nice bitterness in the end. The alcohol warms you up from inside. In overall beer is quite good.

Keg at the 4th Copenhagen Beer Celebration, Session I, 01/05/2015. Lightly hazed orange with a decent faint beige covering. Nose is tangy citric peel, straw, bitter orange. Taste comprises tarte lemon rind, bitter orange, funk, yeast esters, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok saison but I’d expect a bit more depth ABV considered.

On tap at Sandar. A gusher, producing an unclear amber colored body and a huge off-white head. Curtains. The aroma is quite malty, with some pale malts, grass, resin notes and a peppery hint. A bit heavy on the carbonation, full to medium body and semi-dry. Grass, pale malts, generic fitness and a decent bitterness. Not my favorite saison or Edge beer, but far from bad. 150531

Bottle at home. Pours hazy murky orange. Foams a looott. Nose is spicy, orange, belgian yeast, alcohol strength. Taste is fruits, malts, spices, yeast, peach. Although I like strong beers, saison could be maybe lighter. It goes towards belgian strong ale.
