Hand pulled at the Anchor, Birmingham. Yellowy brown, like a well trod lawn. Rather predictable, nondescript, inoffensive bitter. Some sour malt bitterness with a smidge of sweetness.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell as Franklin’s Brighton Rocks. GOlden brown with a tight white head; soft caramel malt aroma; biscuity malt flavour with some fruitiness; and a pleasant light bitterness to finish. A good session bitter.

The Felix, Nuneaton, 31/03/12. Slightly foggy copper draped with beige. Good nutty, soft oak, thistle-like aroma begging a sip. Grassy hop, digestive malt, tweak of rauch. Good bitter.

Light chestnut brown, clear, thin white head, some lacing
Aroma of soft fruity caramel malts
Taste of fruity caramel malts, light soft berries, touch of toasted malts
Palate - soft carb, thin body, bit oily texture. Finish as main flavour with light toasted malt, cleans well of palate
Overall - Above average bitter

Cask, Slig & Lettuce, Leicester. Amber brown with a rhin foam. Aromas are weetabix malts with toffee and biscuit. Hints of citrus with some pepper. Flavours are sweet caramel and toffee malts with some dry tea and lemon. All a bit flabby and average.

Cask conditioned at Far From the Madding Crowd, Oxford. Amber with slight head. Sweet, toffee, caramel beer, honeyed, bordering on dull. No second phase, little hop impact. In fact, yes, dull.

Cask @ Volunteer Arms, GBBF 2010. Pours a copper color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma. Fruity sweetish malty caramel flavor with some nutty hints. Has a fruity malty caramel finish with some nutty hoppy hints in the aftertaste.
