COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle Conditioned.
Has also been seen on cask as Teignworthy Indian Pale Ale.

A British version of the American IPA style.
In order to replicate the East India Pale Ales of the past we have produced a limited kilning of East India Malt. High quality low nitrogen barley has been traditionally floor malted as with the original East India Malts. Kilning temperature specifications and final malt colour have been closely adhered to.

500ml bottle from Tuckers Maltings. Golden amber colour, big foamy white head leaving lacing and aroma of malt, grain, floral & fruity. Taste is sweetish malty, with fruity, citrus, apricot & yeast notes, some spice and bitterness. Slightly oily mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft to medium carbonation, dry peppery bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

GBBF Day 4. Cask. Hazy gold beer, small white head. Palate is light and semi dry. Mild fine carbonation. Light pale malts, sweetish. Light floralness. Touch of marmalade. Whisper of something soapy. Okay, tad dry.

Sampled @ GBBF day 2 as Teignworthy Indian Pale Ale. Clear orange color, small white head. Smell and taste are not what I hope for in an IPA. Too sweet, too much fruits you donít want like apple for instance, and not really balanced imo. Donít like it.

ALLOVATE (2436) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - APR 13, 2012
Bottle from Tuckerís Maltings, Newton Abbot, Devon.
At just on cool and into a pint. Simply faultless to look at. A sunny shade of orange and just whispily hazy with very fine, intermittent and sluggish carbonation. Rocky and thick, satiny pillow of white atop holds on well and leaves a thick weave of lace. Bright hops on the nose; pine, camphor, eucalypt, dusty herbs under layers of peach and apricot with inklings of toasted grain and sweet Anzac biscuits. So juicy is the fruit esters in the mouth. The body lighter than expected with spritzy carbonation giving it a racy mouthfeel. Citrus fruit like bitter/sweet valencia dominates over lowly, pasty malt flavours. A hint of salt sharpness amidst a very herbal, spicy and piney back end that peaks and drops off with a surprisingly subdued bitterness. The alcohol shows, giving a light warmth to it but is in check. Very well balanced ale. Would have loved to have seen more depth of malt, but itís otherwise another great beer from Teignworthy with respect to this old Maltster. (50cL, BBE 05/13)

Bottle. Golden with white foam. Aromas are floral with apricot and grapefruit. Yeasty with quite gentle spices. Lightly woody but light overall. Flavours are sweet grapefruit with lots of spritzy yeast. some apple. Has the strength (almost) of an ipa but not the character. Still OK.
