3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Eel River Certified Organic Porter has an extremely thin, beige, cola-type, fizzy head, an opaque, dark, red-brown appearance, some visible bubbles, and suspended particulate matter, and no lacing left behind. The aroma is of sweet, chocolatey, dark-roasted barley malt, with a touch of coffee. Taste is of all that, with a slight vegetable note. Mouthfeel is light to medium and a bit powdery, and Eel River Porter finishes dry, powdery, rich, and mellow. Overall, this is quite good. RJT

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a thin tan head on a light brown body. Almost no head retention.
The aroma is roasted malt. Mild, but nice.
The taste is well balanced, roasted malt, lemon bitterness and chocolate roll around together.
The texture is pretty smooth with low to moderate carbonation.
Aside from the initial poor appearance, this is a good porter.

Good but served in a gulden draak which was weird. Wonderful creamy and beautiful taste

small frothy offwhite head. fair lacing. mostly diminishing. thin flat dark brown body. aroma: strong coffee moderate malt caramel dark chocolate. if and ff: moderate sweet, reminding of chocolate and malt; long duration. palate: light body, watery texture, lively carbonation, metallic finish. Bem normalzinha e sem graça até ser harmonizada com sorvete de chocolate, quando ganhou nuances mais fortes de café e certo amargor. 30s

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. A dark brown beer with a beige head that’s soon less than a coat. Aroma of mocha and dark berries. Rather thin. Fairly dry with cocoa, Milo, some dark fruits, little bitterness, slightly astringent at the end. Some OK malty things going on, but it’s all a bit vague and athematic (unless "organic beers often lack presence" is a theme).
