COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
No other beer shows off what malts can do in a beer better than porter. Certified Organic Porter uses a complex blend of five malts that compliment and highlight one another in a harmonious mixture. Only one addition of imported Pacific Gem hops is used to provide a balancing bitterness without introducing any other hop character. While decidedly in the robust porter category, Certified Organic Porter has none of the harsh character people often associate with dark ales. Instead, what one finds is a rich, smooth beer with suggestions of chocolate and just a hint of coffee. So smooth and malty, this porter will convert even the non-dark beer drinker.

12oz bottle - pours dark brown with ivory head. Nose is roasted malts and caramel. Sip adds a ton of coffee and what I guess is toffee. Bitter. Tasty. Would recommend for making stews. Slightly sweet aftertaste.

Eel River Certified Organic Porter is satisfying but not a standout. Not much aroma on this one. Pour is the expected dark with a decent light tan head. Taste of chocolate and malt with maybe a hint of coffee. Finish is clean. Organic Porter is a good session beer or something to enjoy with a meal.

Light vanilla and nut aroma. Black as Monsanto’s soul in color with a short lived tan head. Starts with a zing at the tip of the tongue then a vanilla and nut after taste. Good straight forward porter.

Poured from a bottle it is a dark brown beer with a cream colored head. The aroma is roasted malts and the taste is of toasted malts that has a cOffee finish on the palate.

UPDATED: SEP 4, 2013 From a 12 bottle shared in Avon, NC. Pours a dark cola brown with an ecru head. Malty nose with notes of caramel and toffee. Flavor also includes some coffee. A quite flavorful porter. Moderate to high carbonation. Mouthfeel on the thin side. Mildly bitter finish.

Nt as good as some of the better porters out there, but not something I’d lament about getting. The mouthfeel is decent, pretty smooth, but for me the taste is just not complex nor deep enough. I probably wouldn’t order again, but it’s a fun order for an organic beer.

Acquired from hayduke. Thanks Ron! It poured a dark color with a small off-white head. The aroma was sweet with lots of caramel and toffee. The taste was sweet, loads of caramel, some toffee and some coffee. Not bad.

Bottle. Poured a dark brown with a pretty small head. I found this one to be rather heavy on the roasted malts, but in a very inviting way. The beer itself was extremely smooth and easy on the palate, though it kept up that robust malty and roasted character. Great porter.

Aroma of roasted malts and chocolate with hints of coffee and perhaps some dark fruit. Pours a brownish-black with a tan ring and no lacing. The taste iwhile lightly sweet is very pleasing. Roasted malts, chocolate, and some biscuit, with hints of coffee-like bitterness in the finish. Also just the barestest hints of funk. ( Which I like.) Medium body with moderate carbonation. A nice smooth mouthfeel. Overall, I found this to be a very enjoyable and drinkable porter. Would drink again.
