COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This style uses a lager yeast fermented at warmer, ale-like temperatures producing a slightly fruity palate, but finishes with the clean, crisp taste of a lager.

Sampled at the brewpub on 8/5/10. Pours a clear amber with a medium off-white head. Earthy and grassy hop aroma with a bit of pale malt. Caramel malt flavor giving way to earthy and grassy hops with a malty finish.

UPDATED: APR 15, 2007 Poured a nice light yellow with a nice white head and great lacing. Nose of light malts and hops with hints of citrus and flowers. Mouthfeel is very clean and it has a refreshing taste, and flavors are very nice for a pale lager. According to the brewer this was their first brew. I do not know how old this one is, but it tasted fresh and clean, and was pretty darnn good for a pale lager. While this type of beer is dominated by some of the worst beers in the world, this one stands out from the pack for me and it the best example oI have tasted.

Eel River’s version of Steam Beer - while not my favorite it’s quite drinkable and a very good lager.
