On tap at Blue Palms. Pours with a clear golden hue with a large off-white head. Aromas are hoppy, fruity, soapy, dirty dishes and a touch of creamed corn (DMS). Flavors are of overripe to rotten oranges, tangerine and marmalade. A bit soapy. Syrupy and a bit sweet on the mouth.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a golden amber color with a fluffy white head. Hop, citrus, caramel, pine and malt aroma. Citrus, pine, caramel and hop flavors. Medium light body and medium carbonation. Rather mellow flavors, especially for a dipa. Citrus finish. Underwhelming but it was expected for an organic beer.

Very hazy amber beer, good size pale cream coloured head. Softish palate with mild fine carbonation. Soft caramel. Big resinous pine hops. Touches of grapefruit and peel. Lesser sweet fruits and a touch of mint. Very drinkable but could use a touch more sharpness.

Bravo Eel River. I like you guyís and what you stand for. I donít know why but it seems like organic beers have little more bitterness than other beers. This beer has a beautiful soft slightly sweet bitterness. Brilliant orange color. Tastes delicious with caramel and a tiny bit of honey and earth. A little thin and watery for a double but a lot of flavor. Very fresh taste. Very creamy and drinkable. This is real beer that takes me to another place. Awesome!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
8/04/2011: Eel River Earth Thirst Double IPA (Certified Organic)... Aroma: Butterscotch-toffee maltiness; toasted grains; floral hop presence, initially there is big leafy hopppiness that is almost cheese-like, but that seems to go away as the beer breathes some. Appearance: Opaque, bronze-like color; foamy off-white to beige-colored head, tight lacing. Flavor: Sharp earthy, floral hops; moderate bitterness; tinny toffee maltiness tinged with butterscotch in the middle; bitterness escalates with each swallow and becomes more floral and dry accompanied by straight grapefruit peel and a touch of dark honey; alcohol is completely hidden. Palate: Medium body; oily, slick texture; mild carbonation. Overall: This beer packs a good amount of bitterness and the hops outpace the malt in a good way, but it starts to become too dry and the perfume oiliness in the middle bothers me.
1 pint 6 fl. oz. bottle (8.2% Alcohol by Vol.) from The Andersonís General Store in Maumee, Ohio. Rating #73 for this beer.

Bomber. Fresh. Pours a clear dark orange color with a large white head. A nice big fruit and biscuit nose. A huge flavor of oranges, some mellow biscuit, caramel, sweet malty presence. Really quite rich and clean. Lots of sediment in the last pours. Really nice IIPA.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours orange-amber with two fingers of foamy white head. Piney hop aroma. Flavor is nice and bright hops up front, but with a less-than-pleasant astringent finish. A middle of the road Imperial IPA. While a bomber of this does help me forget that tomorrow is Monday, there are tastier ways to achieve that end.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
bomber. It has a unique taste for an DIPA. I donít know how to describe it but it doesnt taste like the typical hop palate you would expect. Maybe resin with some herbs. Nice change of pace from the 100+ IBUís iíve had lately.
