COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As Americaís first certified organic brewery, Eel River Brewing always celebrates Earth Day (April 22nd) to raise awareness about how easy it is to become sustainable. By taking small steps as individuals, together we can make big changes. To celebrate Earth Day in 2011, Eel River produced a specialty double IPA: Earth Thirst.

Like all of Eel Riverís brews, Earth Thirst is organic and brewed sustainably. Brewed with over three pounds of hops per barrel and finishing out at 8.2% ABV, this is a strong, hoppy beer! Cascade and Centennial hops give this double IPA a heavy floral aroma and citrus flavor. What makes this beer unique is that it uses the highest quality, all organic ingredients - all from the Pacific Northwest.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a head of all foam finely sized off-white colored bubbles that were and left behind a hazy orange brown colored body and a fair lacing. The mild aroma was hoppy. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The mild flavor contained notes of hops. Kind of off the mark probably attributable to the organic nature of the brew.

Amber colored, moderate head, decent lace/retention. Aroma is grapefruit, citrus, resin, light caramel. Medium bodied, moderate to high bitterness, not much flavor. I donít know why I keep trying their beers, I never enjoy them that much.

Pretty pedestrian double ipa. Eel river is still stuck in the 1990's. They need a new brewer. Rarely does anything they make wow you. I think it's great that they do organic but they need to step up to the plate and get on the game or they will just be lost in the shuffle if not too late already.

Backlog. On tap at The Mayor of Old Town last May. Golden orange and lightly hazy with a sticky head. Aroma of citrus fruits, pine, bitter hops, floral notes and light caramel malts. Similar flavor, west coast style IPA. Medium body with a dry finish.

From bomber. Pours a pretty semi-clear amber with a couple fingers of white head. Strong hop aroma. Strong hop/malt taste. Nothing to sneeze at. Would drink again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Soft, easy beer. A mellow brilliance, this glowing golden brew maybe won't hit you in the face initially, but you may come back and remember this beer shortly after finishing and say, "damn."

Pours a golden amber color with a fluffy white head. Hop, citrus, caramel, pine and malt aroma. Citrus, pine, caramel and hop flavors. Medium light body and medium carbonation. Rather mellow flavors, especially for a dipa. Citrus finish. Underwhelming but it was expected for an organic beer.

Very hazy amber beer, good size pale cream coloured head. Softish palate with mild fine carbonation. Soft caramel. Big resinous pine hops. Touches of grapefruit and peel. Lesser sweet fruits and a touch of mint. Very drinkable but could use a touch more sharpness.
