A rich roasty brew with a deep "espresso" character. Originally brewed for the Imperial Court in Russia, this stout is a warm festive drink made with the cold Russian Winters in mind. This complex stout is brewed with a combination of nine domestic and imported malts. Only the finest Pacific Northwest hops are used to provide the perfect balance in our award winning beer.

Black, no head. Smells like one of them mocha coffee drinks. Nice rich palate. Plenty and coffee and dark chocolate, with hints of oak and blueberry. Nothing too fancy, but tasty.

Dark brown slightly affected by light. Sweet nutty bitter syrup taste. Stain of that bitter is left behind.

Blackish with a tan head. Lightish but rich chocolate cherry and raisin aroma. And taste is the same, but more powerful and well rounded. $6/22Oz

Rated on 6-21-2010 (Bottle) This beer has a medium sized very fizzy tan head that mostly diminishes, opaque dark brown body, and no lacing. The aroma is malty, chocolate, coffee, lightly smokey, sweet, and some alcohol. The taste is sweet, malty, chocolate, coffee, alcohol, and has a semi-dry finish. The palate is light carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. Overall, this beer is very quaffable, chocolate upfront in the aroma and flavor, worth trying, and a beer I would drink again.

Poured an average creamy light brown head that subsided rather quickly.Dark cola in color. Notes of molasses, coffee , roast, and dark fruit in the nose with average alcohol for style. Medium body that is uncaricaturisticfor this style. The finish does last for a while to remind you that this is an imperial stout.

Bottle poured a deep dark brown hue w/ medium dark brown fully diminishing head. Moderate malty boozy aroma. Initial flavor is moderate sweet w/ a moderate bitter finish and moderate duration. Tastes are heavy malts, dark roast, molasses, rye bread, dark breads, and dates. Full bodied, average carbonation, well-balanced mouthfeel, and a dry warm finish without feeling boozy.

Wow! Creamy, espresso goodness in this Russian imperial stout. Fit for a Czar, this stout is a thick, coffee-cocoa goodness bomb of wonderment. Huge thick brown head, lots of rings in the lacing, and a bolt of flavor that is as flavorful as I've had in a long time. Get this beer now. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Ok stout. Pours a nice black with a light brown head. Smells very floral, strange for a stout. Taste is very light with some smokiness and hops. A stout should be creamier and sweeter IMO. Tastes more like a black IPA or black Lager then a stout. Paired with a Carbonara, makes the beer slightly malty'r. Had in the bottle. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
