Bomber from Whole Foods. Pours a nice ruby looking color. Nose is slightly sweet with a good amount of dark fruits and spice. Deep dark fruit flavors. Some yeastiness and spice. Alcohol is very well hidden . Sometimes this reminds me of a big BSA or quad and other times like a huge doppelbock. Very full of flavor. Lots of stuff going on and still well balanced.

From the bomber this pours a hazy amberish brown body topped by a towering yellowish beige head that leaves lotsish of lace. The aroma is sweet dark caramel, burnt light brown sugar, juicy dark fruits, dried fruit, molasses, and alcohol. Very creamy mouthfeel. The flavor faithfully reflects the nose, but starting at the midpoint there’s a charred hard nut bitterness that aids in balancing the malty sweetness. The finish is dry and mildly bitter. Not too shabby.

Aged 2 years: Pours a merky brown with white head. Aroma of malts, dark fruit and brown sugar. Flavor is very tame for 9.7% with notes of mollasses, caramel, malt, fig and vanilla. This beer has an explosive palate with good carbination. Very Good

Pours a dark, dark cola color that looks deep copper when held up to the light. There is almost no head but ring lingers throughout and leaves bits of lacing. The aroma is big and complex with figs, caramel, brown sugar and some wood. There is a bit of citrus hops in there as well if you really look for it, but the sugar and dark fruits are dominant. The taste has a big roasted caramel malt that last throughout. Up front, the sweetness of molasses and brown sugar give way to dark fruits, mainly figs and raisins. There is a much more prevalent resiny hop finish than indicated in the nose. Mouthfeel is creamy and smooth but with lots of carbonation and a slight bitterness from the hops. Sticky. This is an enjoyable and recommended old ale.

Cola and hops nose, pretty copper, pours a small toffee head. Taste is strong malt, quite woody. Medium bodied, strong and bitter. Interesting one. Thanks Sammy.

Bottle. Sweet fruity aroma. Dark body with tan creamy head and mahagany hue. Flavor is rich caramel but the rich creamy texture kept me interested. Otherwise over sweet and sticky on the palate. Easy on the sweetener please.

Slightly hazy darkish-amber colour. Has a slight caramel accent to the aroma. Dry hop taste, plus some dryness from the alcohol. Really caramelly. Interesting, I didn’t know it wasn’t supposed to be a tripel and that definitely confused me.

Dark cloudy caramel brown with a small tan head. Aroma is not very strong, but seems a bit spicier than the flavor. Flavor is very nice. Some brown sugar and raisin with some spice. Cinnamon and nutmeg. Just a very smooth and enjoyable beer.
