22oz bottle aged at least one year. I just finished a small glass of Big Dicks Old Ale. I can tell from one sniff that this will be a completely different experience. The pour is dark, dark brown. The head consists of only a clump of white bubbles in the middle. The aroma is sweet but earthy, and very rich. There is some smoky notes here as well, which I’m really enjoying. Rich, sweet, a little smoky and a tight dry finish. Quality old ale.

22 oz bottle. Dark, but clear, russet with a dusting of tan foam. Aroma is a mix of raisin, apricot, caramel and orange. Starts like a stout with notes of coffee, portobello and tobacco. A bittersweet chocolate bite ushers in plum and tart blackberry. Tails off with smoky molasses. Nice coating mouthfeel with fine carb.

22 oz enjoyed at the beach in a red plastic cup. Thanks to drewbeerme for this sample. Pours a mahoganny brown with a beige head. Nose is nice, lots of carmel, toffee, and dark fruits. More carmel, toffee and dark fruits in the flavor with hints of charred oak, vanilla, and smoke. Creamy and smooth palate, this is tasty and I’m surprised it isn’t rated higher.

22 oz bomber. Pours a clear, dark coppery amber with a medium beige head. Aroma of tangy maltiness with grassy hops. Taste is malty with a strong tangy presence.

bottle, from Cary Whole Foods. Ok aroma, not strong, Cocoa, wet leather, hint of peach or maybe more like a peach candle type scent. Clean dark orangy brown color, good head and ok lacing. Sweet flavor, mmm a very nice flavor rich malty with a little smoke. Thick body, creamy viscous mouthfeel, bittersweet finish. Wow, such a difference to me between aroma & flavor. Flavor is where it really at with this one

Dark brown with amber edges. Small, creamy tan head. Nose of roasty malt, rich caramel and cocoa, bitter resinous hops, grain, subtle alcohol. Similar flavor, hop presence only in the finish. Rich yet drinkable. Medium/full body, smoother than balanced. Very good.

Picked this up and thought it was a triple. I’m relieved it’s an Old ale. Reddish pour with thin white head. Rich, malty aroma. Some caramel, a bit of cherries and grass. Flavor is moderately hoppy and bitter, some caramel, some cereal. Finish is dry hoppy bitterness and cereal malt. Very tasty, actually. Easily one of the best Organic beers i’ve ever had.

Had a hard time picking out aroma molecules , fuit tinged chocolate malt and black pekoe from what I could detect, taste was a more up front strange and interesting combination of flavors, including root beer candy, chcolate frosting, and slightly burnt caramel, occasionally the alcohol would float to your attention. Would have rated in the 4’s if i could have gotten more aroma
