UPDATED: OCT 13, 2014 33cl Bottle@home. Appearance: clear ruby with beige head. Aroma: hops and roasted malt. Taste: bitter-sweet. Palate: medium bitter-sweet body, medium CO2. Overall: ok. Tap@ABF 2014. Not comparable to the bottled version, i.e. it’s worse in taste.

Aroma of malt, bread, caramel, raisins, some dark fruits. Flavour is malty, sweet caramel, but not that sweet for a Dunkler Bock. Instead, it’s got a nice bitter finish.

What I especially do not like is the finish. Dusty and muddled, you can get the flavors of the centennial the most. Ok beer, not great. Bottle van Erp Groningen.

Fles bij Van Erp in Groningen gekocht. Roodbruin bier met een mooie kleine kraag. Iets te bittere en droge afdronk.

Draught: Served in a taster: Medium sized creamy off white light beige ish foamy head on top of an almost clear ruby colored beer. Aromas of red and dark fruit, malt toast, caramel, sweat, old hops, light chalk and old wood. Flavours of old herbs, caramel, clay, bitters, malt and dried leave toast, some cream, barley malts, older hops, older malts, some yoghurt, light toffee and some yeast. Aftertaste is bitter, light dry, toast, caramel en some dried leaves. Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, medium bodied and a creamy texture. Strange but decent...

On tap at Gollem Proeflokaal. Dark red brown pour, barely clear. Lots of frothy, lacy off white head. Aroma is surprising, actually quite hoppy, light leafy hop aroma dominates the traditional toasted grain and fruity /caramel malt scents. Taste is also bitter, grassy hoppiness with a nice toasted grain finish, light alcohol finish. Palate is quite dry, medium bodied with good carbonation. Original bok, and quite pleasant.

On tap at the Bockbier Festival in Amsterdam. Pours a clear amber orange with a tan head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has a good amount grass and raisin bread with a backing note of leaves. Flavor is similar with grass and raisin bread and has a hint of leaves in the finish.
