sayravai (4548) - Helsinki, FINLAND - AUG 20, 2011
(Bottled) Very hazy dark brown with a medium, creamy head. Aroma of lightly roasted, caramely malt, dried fruit and yeast. Flavor is dried-fruity, lightly sweet, caramely-roasty, also somewhat bitter. Medium to full body, fizzy but still overall quite soft CO2. A quite nice, dryish dubbel with more than the usual share of roastiness and hops. 4446

330ml bottle (Cracked Kettle, Amsterdam)
7 Rich heavy sweet malty and rye-bready aroma. Some heavy esters in there too. Maybe some whiteboard marker once or twice?
4 Rich reddy-brown, small off-white head.
7 Slightly wooly, but otherwise a very rich roasty malty retronasals, and taste too. Aiming toward marmite, but not quite reaching it.
3 Pleasant palate, gentle carbonation. Finish back to the wooliness, with some burnt edges and the general tingle of biting bittering hops.
14 Not your typical dubbel. Take an OK Belgian dubbel, and then give it a kick up the backside with some bitter hops.
