(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 3 Aug 2009) Pale amber colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity, malty nose with citrus, mandarin, grass and hints of resiny hops. Fruity, malty taste with notes of citrus (mandarin, orange), citrus peel, grainy malt and a generous citrussy, resinous bitterness in the finish. Slightly above medium body, fairly sweet. Great balance. Lovely beer with a fresh hop character.

On tap at Cafe Belgique, Utrecht. Gold with white head. This totally surprised me, genuinely dry and very hoppy with sharp bitterness and a lasting citric note, great length. A very decent beer indeed.

From bottle at Tilburg beer festival. Amber with a stable head. Nice fruity hop aroma. Strong hoppiness, especially for a Dutch beer, yet with Belgian-style balance. Floral flavours. A hoppy Dutch surprise.

Draft @ in de Wildeman, Amsterdam. Nose is slightly citric, slightly sweet yeastiness. Flavor is the earthy, yet sweet (strawberry fields) of the nose that shows a little more orange zest and then a bitter, resiny finish. Highly drinkable and a really interesting take on a style approaching overdone. Good stuff.

This one is pretty nice. Didn’t know what to expect from ’Rosebud’. Colour is kinda boring, not ugly. Smell is great, taste could use a bit more of the smell. Mouthfeel is above average good for me.

To me this is a very good brewery. Their beers are almost always very nicely balanced, and this one is no exception in my opinion. Bright golden color, lovely centennial hop smell and taste. Nice bitter finish which sort of tickles the tongue.

0.33 L bottle from de Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Big fluffy white head. Near-clear, copper colored body. Nice hop aroma; tropical, citrus and flowers. Taste has a restrained malt body, slightly sweet, quite clean. A light resinous, grassy and citrussy hop bitternes is there to balance. Midium to full body. Oily texture. Balanced finish, dry malts and a fine, lingering bitterness. Well-crafted and harmonius.

Bottle (33 cl) from the Cracked Kettle. Hazy amber with medium white head. Typical Belgoyeast aroma with spicy, floral, and herbal notes, some tropical fruit hops as well. Dry with a nice bitterness which I doubt is IBU 60. Overall very nice and tasty.
