Countbeer (4387) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, - FEB 3, 2013
Bottle: Medium sized, vast and slowly changing, beige creamy colored foamy head on top of a deep dark red beer, when hold in the light it appears to be an almost clear deep ruby colored beer. The aroma is nothing like an IPA, a thin mix of caramel, autumnal herbs, brown sugars/molasses, grains, a hint of sharp hop citrus and stingy herbs. The flavours are like the aroma nothing like an IPA: yeast, sharper herbs, hint of hops, bitter, sharper herbs, stingy hops, malts, nuts, caramel, meal, porridge and dusty malts. Aftertaste is bitter with herbs, yeast, wood, malts and (sharper) herbs. Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, medium body and a light creamy texture. I hope I had a wrong bottle, if not, this is not a good IPA, while I had other IPA’s from this brewery that were pretty ok, this beer does not come close to those beers, let alone IPA’s in general. Pity!

Bottle shared at chriso’s May 2014 tasting - London. Pours clear, rich amber with a white cream head. Tangy and meaty fruits on the nose. Medium sweet flavor, tangy, with bread, berries, some leaves and earth. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet to finish with light tangy and leathery fruits. Not too bad.

Tasted in bottle. Lots of malt and not very hoppy. Does not smell like much. Tastes a bit sweet and rounded. It gained some points after being out of the fridge for a while.

Deep red... Thin tan lacing... Soft dry toffee caramel nose... Soft sweet toffee fruit... Dry woody malts... Not me

Tasting at the ever gracious ChrisO’s. Lightly hazy amber beer, good cream coloured head. Palate is airy with light fine carbonation. Tangy toffee malts, slightly oxidised. Tangy dried fruits. Light semi dry finish. Tangy! Too much so!

Geruch fruchtig malzig, sehr hopfig. Geschmack leicht hopfig, fruchtig malzig, exotische Früchte.

Clear dark ruby with light bron lacing foam head. Aroma caramel with some hoppy tones. Taste is quite bitter, but still some sweet notes. Barley aftertaste. (Velp 201403)

Bottle from ABCBeers. Poured clear, with a deep red color and a beige lacing head. Toffee, dark fruits, nuts, spices, honey in the aroma. Roasty sweet taste in the full, almost oily body. Dry, roasty lasting aftertaste. It’s a good winter beer, but could use more hops as an IPA.

Zacht, weinig co2. Koperkleurig, helder. dichte kraag. Citrushop, zurig. Licht bitter. Ruikt wat metalig.
