BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 18, 2012
July 2010: The first beer I had at my pool bar while on holiday in Ovacik (Turkey). 33cl brown bottle, poured into an Efes half pint glass (one and a half times). Tasteless, odourless and no body, slight malt hints but weak throughout. The beer was very cold, the sun was very hot, I needed a drink, this didn’t work. The first and worst beer I had on the hot holiday trip 2010.

Dark brown, cola color body, tan colored foam. Soft caramel and roasted malt taste. Easy to drink. Alcohol content (6 %) is more than expected from such a soft beer. Very dull finish. Not goes well along with the food.

Viceroy (91) - Bucharest, ROMANIA - APR 11, 2012
Bottle - 0,33 l - Supermarket Auchan Appearance: Clear dark cola color with small tan head. Aroma: Hay and caramel. Taste: The taste is not intense at all. All the flavors are muted and it is too watery. Refreshing, easy to drink beer. Abrupt, somewhat unusual finish. Palate: Body is light with average carbonation.

Chudwick (562) - Taylor Mill (KY), FRANCE - APR 7, 2012
11.2oz bottle - pours dark ruby with beige head. Nose is typical hops for the style. Flavor is hay and caramel. Maltier than I would expect and hence making sweet with the usual bitter finish. Easy to drink. Very middle of the road.

Has a very dark brown color. Smell is of malts, some toffee. Taste is good, malts, smoke, a touch of caramel. Overall a refreshing and enjoyable beer.

12 oz bottle pours a clear reddish brown with a quickly vanishing head and not much lacing. I was surprised to see that the bottle was clear glass after I poured it. Aroma is unpleasant: very malty but with as much cardboard as caramel. Taste is on the bitter side with an aftertaste of old formaldehyde in a a biology lab. Thin, watery body but carbonated. I actually bought a 6-pack of these today, which was 5 too many.
