Scrapersnbeer (457) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - JAN 8, 2012
Comes in a fancy clear bottle (not as pictured) with a panther on it. This probably contributes to the aroma, which is roasted malt with a hint of skunk and starch. Dark reddish brown color, tan head. Tastes a bit like a brown ale, but much sweeter. Dry finish. Average dark beer.

Bottle. Dark brown color, not much head or carbonation. Actually had a nice and tasty flavor just slightly skunky. Some skunky aroma with a strong caramel malty smell.

sulawang (220) - British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 16, 2011
made with malted barley and RICE! Kewl. pours coffee black, minimal head, small carbonation, minimal lacing. Smells of liquid malt on the nose, and slightly oyster/wet dog (very strange). That tropical sweet sake-like flavour comes through, mixed with a medium malt and an off-dry finish. Quite an unexpected flavour profile for such a dark beer. Not much in terms an addictive flavour or complexity, but has an interesting taste.

33 cl clear bottle kindly provided by Odland. Pours clear mahogany with a short lived, tan colored film leaving some lacing. Initial yeasty, grains aromas quickly surrender to intense caramel and brown sugar. Initial flavors are sweet and alcoholic. Like caramel sauce diluted with water and alcohol. Some bitterness comes through after a few sips, and it builds on the bitterness from earlier sips. Although the finish is quite short, layers of the flavours seem to build in the back of the mouth in a way that is not very pleasant. Full body. Sticky. Dry tongue. (My rating number 1111 added 11.11.11. - irresistable numerology. With this one, I’ve rated all of ratebeer’s beer styles.)

(Bottle). Pours (very) dark amber, look almost black without a bright background. Sweet and watery with very little bitterness. Hints of alcohol. Pretty tasteless, but drinkable.

Dark, almost black with a faint of red in it. Really creamy head. Very roasty smell and taste, a bit malty/sweetish but almost nothing more in it, which makes it drinkable but pretty boring.
