Head: beige, medium, frothy, avg. retention. Colour: amber-brown, clear. Aroma: malty/bready, very faint, possibly some fruitiness. Taste: quite dry and bitter, very little malt sweetness. More like a coloured lager than a dunkel.

7 euros at Istanbul airport pours a dark brown with reddish hues. 1 finger yellowish creamy head. Nose is sweet with caramel aroma some burnt malts, fig and watermelon. Butterscotch taste and some more fig, raisin and sweet bread. Standard lager but the dark malts do help a little bit. Certainly not a $10 beer.

330 ml bottle. At the İstanbul Atatürk Airport, Turkey. Dark brown colour. Sweetish malty aroma with rye and burnt non-alcoholic beer notes. The flavour is sweet malt, burnt malt, sugar and mild rye notes. Somehow the flavour is quite close to a non-alcoholic beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

can @ home. Brown to dark copper color of the liquid and a light beige thick head with some nice lacing. Sweet aroma of toffee, plums, brown sugar, some milk chocolate and malt extract. Medium bodied with a smooth and oily texture, and medium carbonation. Sweet flavors of toffee, caramel, dark syrup and milk chocolate are replaced by a drier nutty finish with some coffee and lingering herbal hints.

Bottle at IST airport, January 2015. Clear and very dark brown with a quickly dissolving beige head. Malt and sweet caramel aroma, then some limestone. Sweet, caramel taste with a little chocolate candy. Medium body, slightly chocolatey-malty aftertaste. Not too fresh but surprisingly ok.

Dark lager almost pilsner smell...dark red appearance, taste is smooth and slightly roasted, malty but not heavy, good beer that you could drink several of...

Finally found a dark beer in istanbul. A lityle vegetal on the aroma. Very much caramel and toffee with a slight creaminess. Not horrible. Hella loft better than the tuborg I’ve been drinking all week!

(Keg, 0.5 l - 5.5 % ABV - BB 290315, thanks Marduk, 20141231) The beer poured dark brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, caramel and cough mixture. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, caramel, chocolate, cough mixture, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, harsh and bitter. There were some good things in this beer but the unpleasant ones hid them too quickly.

Bottle picked up outside the Morocco section of the World Showcase at Disney’s Epcot. Poured a clear dark amber, slight head. Aroma was syrupy dark malt. Flavor matched, distinct flavor of unfermented wort. Barely enough hop bitterness to keep things under control. Not horrible, but not great. But it at least had flavor. There were other probably far better beers around Epcot, but this was a bird in hand moment to try something new.
