1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
12 oz clear twist off bottle (why oh why?)
Pours reddish brown with a small immediately dissipating white head.
Skunky smell. Other than that some light fruity dark malts.
It is ultra carbonated. The flavor is metallic and crappy. If Budweiser were dark.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle at Bodrum Cafe in Istanbul. Pours a dark cola color with a medium thin khaki head that recedes quickly to a wispy film. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of toasted malt and caramel. Light to medium body with flavors of roast malt, toffee and slight hops. The finish is sweet with a bready malt and grain aftertaste. Slightly below average overall.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Smells like instant cappuccino, although it also has some caramelly and roasted notes that make the aroma bearable. The taste is significantly better, refreshing and caramelly, with a light bitterness. Fairly ok.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Clear dark ruby brown with a head the reduces to a steady 1/2", light streaks of lace. I expected a weak offering, but was a little surprised by the warm malt with butter rum that dominates the taste. Once established, nothing changes until carbonation bittering at the finish, but there is taste, it is somewhat unique, and it works on a chilly autumn evening.

2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle in Antalya, Turkey. Pours clear coppery brown with a thin fizzy head. Weird nose - roasted malts, but skunky as well. Probably because of the clear bottle. Can’t really stand for skunkiness in a dark beer. Flavor is ok. Roasted malts and a bit of nuttiness. Thin, watery palate.

From bottle, courtesy of John C. Rich malty double decoction aroma, like Doppelbock and mash. Coppery-ruby brown clear with thin light tan head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Starts malty with mash and Twizzlers. Nutty with some paper. Sweet malty after and light sweetish tang. Watery finish.

2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Fia (mange) flasker i Alanya: som aperitif og til aftenens måltid var denne helt ok. Nok smak og maltprofil til å balansere de fleste rettene. Tragisk at Efes/Tuborg har noe som minner om monopol i Tyrkia.
