1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20
Y’know, its rather pointless to rate beers like this. I bought it, drank it and took some bland note on it (Slighlty watery, slightly peppery, blah blah blah...) so I could get a new country (Turkey). There, I’m admitting it right up front.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
From a 11.2 oz. Efes embossed long neck brown bottle with a freshness date stamped on the back label.
Poured a clear pilsener golden with a foamy white head that settled into a thin sudsy lacing.
Aromas of honey bread, sweet grainy and a peppery, herbal hoppiness.
Good pilsener carbonation and a crisp, velvety smooth medium bodied mouthfeel.
Nice, pleasant pilsener taste, sweet honey bready, sugary pilsener malts, touch of grain, peppery, herbal hops mixed with a lemon grassiness, soft in it’s bitterness, and a sweet malty and grassy finish, easy, tasty, good drinkability.
A very drinkable pilsener from Turkey at an affordable price, worth checking out if you like pilseners.

0.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
Poured from the bottle, a little carbonation in the very very pale yellow colour and a thin frothed head. Aroma is a sharp hoppiness with a touch of sweetness coming through. Quite soapy and dry in the mouth - as bad as I have remembered it in the past. Just for the rating this one (and I was at a Turkish restaurant, so wasn’t much on offer).

1.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20
UPDATED: AUG 9, 2006 Absolutely horrible! Any beer brewed with rice will surely have a bland taste, and this one is certainly no exception. Even after paying 3 pounds for this beer in Manchester I couldn’t stomache to finish it. My strong negative reaction is probably due, in part, to the fact that I just finished a Duvel prior to this beer.... but tough luck.

Your standard pale beer, except this one is brewed in Turkey. Enjoyed this one while getting tattooed. Like a Turkish Miller Lite.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Appealing 500ml Fici Bira bottle. Pale straw coloured. Fading white foam. Grainy malt aroma and some of that in a very minimal flavour too. Thin palate .Perhaps alright as thirst quencher but not in the cold summer up north (imported from Izmir - thanks to Eva).

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
330ml bottle. Yellow, no head, a bit bubbly. Tasted directly after a Tuborg Pilsner and tastes very similar, but with a slightly thicker mouthfeel.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle picked up from Waitrose, Witney 10th July 2006. Had this last night whilst sat in the garden, not really impressed with yet another disappointing Pale Lager, thin, bland, little to taste the sort of comments that sum up most lagers. If I was sat in a beach bar in Bodrum, maybe this would have inadvertantly notched up an additional couple of points, through lack of alternatives, authenticity etc; but sat in my garden in Merton I could have chosen any one of a number of beers that would have bettered this.

A surprisingly great beer from a Mediterrenean country. I had stopped drinking pilsener for years (all that Heineken, Carlsberg crap) and was on Belgian. But now, I am back on pilseners, thanks to Efes...
