2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Proper pale golden color. Good but not great aroma. Dry (I like dry), but almost to the point of being astringent. No head, no lace.

Pours the color of straw, mixed with a greenish hue that is not entirely appetizing. Has an earthen aroma, but still kind of skunky. Deleterious mouthfeel caused by way too high fizziness, terrible. THe flavor is its only slightly positive attribute, while being a little on the sweet side, it has a bitter finish but very clean feeling.

Though termed Pilsener this seems more like one of the cheaper, Eastern European generic brews that generally get medium-low ratings. Pours smooth but the insubstantial head dissipates quickly; after a minute it looks much as a true classic Pilsener would look after sitting overnight. Yet despite this visual insubstantiality there is a surprisingly strong palate to this beer -- plenty of effervescence up front, a nice outstretched middle, a strong lingering afterpresence. This strong palate helps emphasize the positive elements of the flavor -- its pronounced hoppiness and somewhat rich maltiness -- over negative elements such as the exact same biting chemical "skunk" hallmark of a cheap Russian import produced in an old Soviet factory (is Turkey considered Eastern Europe?) Though this beer is nothing to linger on, one or two before dinner can be quite acceptable.

I got this beer from my local kebab guy, thanks to him! The beer is pale yellow and has an OK though disappearing white head. The aroma is hoppy and fruity. Flavor is actually quite nice and full for a pilsner, bitter hoppy and malty. One of the better international lagers.....

Weird aroma. like...spaghetti sauce. what the hell? Taste was bland, pure water. rot gut. weak carbonation. What the hell was with the nose?

Bottle from Metro Wines, Syston, Leicestershire. Rather tasty aroma I thought - dry, cheesy, and reminscent of a salty biscuit. Exceptionally fizzy, otherwise a standard golden Pils, with a loose, bubbly white head. Again, a cheesy taste - a mix of cheddar and Red leicester, with some bread enclosure. Dryness is replaced by a sweaty clamminess and a downbeat murk. Hmmm, a bit of a puzzler I thought, but probably not the greatest choice.

skunked like a mofo. clear typical pils color, head is lasting though, albeit thin. aroma and flavor are both cardboardy and skunky...why did i buy this?

1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
12 oz unfortunately-green bottle which does certainly tend to help explain the god-awful skunkiness that emerges instantly upon popping the top. Some decent fresh grain-notes after it's sat for a bit, but still not up to par. Big thick head topping a very very light clear yellow body. Honey-sweet on the tongue, with some metallic bitterness towards the end. No hops that I can discern. Bit syrupy at first, dry and harsh to finish. Now my question is this: the Turks make great carpets, great coffee, wonderful food, nice walled medieval cities; why the hell do they need to try to make shitty beer? Leave that to the Australians, Americans and Canadians; we've perfected it.

Straw gold. Nose reeks of adjuncts, flavor even more so. Has a sweetness and minor hops, but nothing particularly noticeable. Not horrible, just boring.
