UPDATED: APR 11, 2007 Picked up a bottle of Efes Pilsen for eighty-six cents at Total Wine, Cherry Hill, NJ. I was not expecting much and even with such low expectations Efes Pilsen let me down. Taste and aroma of sweet cardboard, barnacle bubbles cling to the side of the glass and a quickly dissapating foam. Bland beer, maybe a slice of lime or lemon would have helped it out. If I ever make it to Istanbul I know what beer I’m not buying now.

Bottle. This was surprisingly good much better than the ratings suggest. Diifferent from the typical Pilsener in that it was more smooth and even had flavors of sweet fruit such as peach. It was lacking the metallic finish often found in Pilseners. This would be a great summer beer.

Can.33cl. You can not say any thing bad about this beer, it has no taste to say anything about.

Sweet grainy flavour, very watery. Metallic biterness. Grassy hops. Very unpleasant finish. Pretty bad beer.

Bottle from Malt of the Earth. Pours a clear, light straw color, with a white ring of foam. Aroma of apples, bread and lightly floral hops. The body is medium, even a touch creamy with powerful carbonation. Tastes like there may be some corn in this beer’s lineage, but also a bit of biscuity goodness. Crisp finish with a bit of sourness to it. It would be nice if they could lose a bit of the carbonation, or maybe I just need to drink this beer when it’s phenomenally cold and the day is incredibly hot?
