1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
33 cl. Pours a very pale straw color, lots of rising bubbles, slightly moussy platinum blonde head. Big ol’ polecatty skunked nose. Did they ship this beer around the Cape or what? Zero attack; vanishingly scant body, no flavor, even the bubbles don’t show up. Plenty of corn for the mid-palate. Hollow, slightly fusily finish. This one’s a Before Picture from Honest Ronnie’s Brew School all the way.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle/Draft in Turkey and strangely enough Trier, DE. Just your basic lager but not bad considering Turkey is not a beer hot-spot.

Very nice bitterness compared to what expected. Otherwise just a heatkiller!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thanks to Degarth for this. I was in the US. Air Force years ago and I got sent over to Turkey for a short time. I only wanted this for nostalgic reasons and I did not think it would be very good. It suprised me. Light gold color with big carbonation. A decent crisp tart flavor.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: MAR 1, 2007 Turkey is paradise, a delightful country to visit. I must say on my visits there I have thorughly and enjoyed the hospitality of the Turkish people and my Turkish beer-drinking brethren (those that do partake). Anyway, this beer was pretty smooth with a bitter sweet hoppy aftertaste. Smacks a bit of a holiday beer, but they sell this at Wetherspoons, so nice for a change, when one has been through their selection of (English) Real ales.

Bottle, clear beatiful golden colour, sweetness and biterness complementing each other, smooth abd very refreshing, uniquely mediterenean lager.

draft, in Turkey. Drinkable when cold and there’s nothing else going on (and if you’re in Turkey, there usually ain’t..), but otherwise your typical pale lagery stuff (not very pilsner IMO).

One thing you learn in Germany is not to pick up turkish girls with their brothers close by. Aside, this really isn’t a pilsner, but more of a pale lager. skunky and sweet malts but faint and distant, like girls underwear left on the floor the day after new years eve.
