A surprisingly great beer from a Mediterrenean country. I had stopped drinking pilsener for years (all that Heineken, Carlsberg crap) and was on Belgian. But now, I am back on pilseners, thanks to Efes...

Efes is not the best beer that I have drunken but it has something to make itself different.

i’m not a fan of the turkish people, i admit it.
but i had to give this beer a top score anyway, and that should prove just how good this beer is. dry, strong tatse, easy to drink, thick texture, and an awsome buzz, all of these make this beer one of my top 3 best bottled beer’s ever.

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2008 I love this pilsner with a fairly German character, but a little different and interesting. It has a decent white head that dissipates to an uneven, small foamy top and a little weak lace on a gold body. It has a malty body that really comes through in the smooth feel and balancing sweetness more than grainy taste, as the real flavour is mostly from the hops here. It has a prominent, lasting grassy, herbal, even minty flavour and definite hoppy bitterness. It is very drinkable yet still flavourful, with a tart bite and a grassy, faintly nutty element.

you have to have this beer after two weeks of its brewery. Almost perfect. The one that I had in the states was already two months past its best before, as probably the case with less known import beers. check the date, I would say...
