COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Porter is a smooth dark beer featuring a complex malty flavor. Six different malts give this porter a light coffee and dark chocolate flavor. A clean finish makes this dark beer easy and fun to drink. Contrary to the perception of many beer drinkers, Effinheimer Porter is not a particularly heavy dark beer. Instead, our Porter is a lighter bodied dark beer easily enjoyable by fans of all beer styles so the next time you’re looking for a great dark beer...

Draft… Hazy, dark, burnt orange ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Chocolaty, nutty aroma. Medium to full-bodied and mildly creamy with moderate carbonation. Although perfectly balanced, the flavor is thin and boring; nutty and minerally. Roasted, lightly bitter finish.

On draft at the brewery, poured a darker brown color, aromas of chocolate, roasted malt, a touch of coffee. Flavors are the same, not the best of this style, but a decent porter none the less, bought some bottles to go.

On tap at Charlie’s steakhouse in Kissimmee. The pour is barely brown in color with a thinnish off white head that dissipates quickly, Smells of caramel and a hint of chocolate with enough earthy hops to keep it balanced. Taste follows the aroma. Malty and a bit sweet with caramel dominant and chocolate, earth, and mineral supporting. Medium to thin body with a spirited level of carbonation and a fizzy sweet mouthfeel. It’s kind of light for a porter, but on an 85 degree day in April it worked for me.

SanfordBrewer (1261) - Sanford, Florida, USA - NOV 21, 2010
malt profile is thin and grainy with a bit of coffee. possibly, either stretching the malt too far, using a small amount of black-roasted malts rather than a generous amount of dark-roasted malts, or using water not conducive to the style.

Brown pour with frothy tan head and lace. Aroma is chocolate and sour malt. Flavor of chocolate, roasted malt, light coffee, and a nice malt bitter. Medium bodied with good carbonation. A very nice offering.

Soft ,tantalizing chocolate kiss aroma, seems like its going to be a dreamy Edmond Fitagerald type of porter, taste ,however is a rather harsh black patent type of roastedness, leaving a somewhat bitter aftertaste. These malts are by no means unpleasant, just not quite up to the better porters available, and it seems it would be consumed only by locals.

Bottle. Some bakers chocolate in the aroma, which is mild, along with a dark fruity scent. Dark brown color, thin head, spotty lacing. The flavor consists of chocolate, smokey ash, residual sugar, weak coffee. A little thin in the body. Pretty good.

Roasted nuts, chocolate, and some coffee aroma. Brown to dark brown pour, some foam, not a lot. Roast, nuts, coffee and light chocolate undertones. Rather straightforward. Dry finish. Body is a bit on the thin side. Almost one dimensional, but very drinkable.
