COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Just in time for the Holidays, Egg Nog Ale. Appalachian Brewing Co. is excited to release Collegeville’s Egg Nog Ale. Due to the addition of flaked oats in the mash, this beer has a wonderfully smooth mouth feel. The bitterness is perfectly balanced to achieve an extremely drinkable beer. At 8% ABV, it is a wonderful end to those last minute shopping trips.

Draft at ABCC. Pours hazy dark straw with minimal off-white head. Nose is hopcitrus, x-mas spice, lactose. Tastes hopcitris, with some pale malt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and creamy lactosy finishing notes. A decent holiday experiment.

Tap. Pours clear dark amber with a small, fizzy white head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is cinnamon and nutmeg, lactose, caramel and cookie malt and fruity esters. Flavor is heavy spices with sweet malt and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Has the nose of egg nog, but thankfully not the taste. The egg nog spices are in the flavor, but it’s still a beer at heart. Nice change of pace winter ale.
