Láhev 500 ml. Po nalití silné uzené aroma karamelu. Středně vysoka jemná držící pěna krémové barvy. Barva piva je temně rudá. Po prvním doušku je cítit chuť připomínající uzený bok a karamel s lehkou kávovou hořkostí. Pivo je vcelku chutné a pitelné.

Bottled. Pours a dark brown/ruby body with a creamy beige head on its top, which laces. Smoky, buttery nose. Malty aroma with molasses, smoke and butter underpainted by mild grassy hops. Slick, somewhat sticky mouthfeel. Sweetbitter finish escorted by roasted malt and spices. Nice one.

Lahev (Pivárium Nové Strašecí) - Tmavá barva , slabší pěna, chuť po karamelu, lehce uzený, na klasický nakouřený piva z okolí Bamberku toto pivo nemá, ale snaha se cení .

This dunkel rauchbier was purchased and consumed in Cesky Krumlov, home of the brewery. The .5 L beer was near black and apparently hazy, with a durable and generous tan head. This brew smells great: sweet barley malt with just a hint of hops and smoke. I am not a fan of smoked beers, or so I thought, so I was pleased that this at least smelled good. The taste was not the same as the aroma, with a pronounced smokiness in addition to the ample flavor of dark roasted malt. Normally objectionable ((for me), I found the smoke a nice addition to this dark beer, overlaying a flavor of grilled grains with none of the artificial smoke flavor I’ve experienced in some other smoked beers. Even the smokiness that lingered after tasting was welcome. Smooth, creamy, and well-carbonated. O - one of the best smoked beers I’ve had. Highly recommended.

(Bottle, 0.5 l, at Siilinpesä, 20121029) The beer poured dark brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had malts, molasses and smoke. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were smoke, malts, molasses, grass and bitterness. Aftertaste was smoky, watery, malty and bitter. No real flaws but both the aroma and the taste were quite mild.

UPDATED: OCT 1, 2012 Barva: hnědočerná, pěna hustá krémová. Vůně: výrazná kávově uzená. Chuť: středně až mírně hořká, plné pivo s jemným řízem. Tělo "máselné" kávově chmelové. Dozvuk spíše sladší sladový.

(Draught at Pivovarsky Klub, Prague, 27 July 2012) Dark brown colour, almost black, with creamy beige head. Malty, smoky nose with notes of bacon, dark fruit and chocolate. Malty, roasted taste with coffee, dark rye bread, raisins, gentle smoke flavours and a touch of chocolate in a finish with a decent bitterness. Medium body, slightly sweetish. The smoke character stays fairly balanced. Quite nice.

Průměrný rauchbír. Klobouk dolů za odvahu dělat rauchbír v čechách, ale snaha zůstala na půl cesty. Chtělo by to výraznější chuť.

500 ml bottle. Pivnice Hostina, Helsinki, Finland. Dark reddish brown colour with small to average size creamy tan head. Malt, strong buttery sweetness and mild metal in aroma. Flavour is roasted malt, smoke, metal and some hops. Mild smoke, roastiness, mild buttery sweetness and mild bitterness in aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(bottle) pours a dark ruby colour with a frothy beige head. aroma of muesli with yoghurt, smoked ham and whole grain, with a hint of herbal hops. flavour is honey-glazed smoked ham, roasted malts, caramel and a hint of barnyard, almost buttery, with a spicy herbal-hoppy medium-bitter finish. medium-bodied with soft carbonation.
