Pours very clear golden with a great, creamy, white head. Okay duration. Aroma has a bit of butter, sweet malts, light toffee and subdued grass. Great, creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has slight buttery notes, but then some nice black currants peep through. Very weird, but also very refreshing. Quite dry finish with slight black currants again. larsga (2119), Oslo, Norway May 31, 2007 Small white head. Faintly hazy orange-brown body. Light straw aroma with notes of earthy caramel. Taste is deep earthy straw with caramel and resiny notes. Clean palate. Bitterish, nutty, grassy aftertaste with lingering smoky notes. Very nice for a pilsener. One of the best. (0.33l bottle.) Quack-Duck (1631), Bodensee, Germany May 27, 2007 Bottle from Cesky Krumlov. Very full flavour, quite malty, typical for Czech 12° lagers. Gr0ve (1083), Oslo, Norway May 15, 2007 330 ml bottle. Deep dark golden colour. Small fine-laced head that clings to the glass. Bold rounded malty aroma with crisp hops. Notes of honey. Delicious grainy maltiness. Rounded hop flavours and bitterness. Gentle prickly carbonation. This is a great Czech pilsener. Lots of character. A bold maltiness and a crisp hop character. I would have loved to have this on tap at my local.
