3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 tomer (973) - Rishon Le Zion, ISRAEL - DEC 9, 2011
Bottle, stable creamy beige head, deep brown colour with lots of red hues, jammy malty aroma, feels almost sweet, with dried fruits, dark german style bread and some nuts, flavour of sourdough bread, instant coffee, and some candy and dried figs in the back, strong sourness, a little too strong, overshadowing a light bitterness. Maybe a bit over the hill but still quite interesting.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 heavy (1490) - Split, CROATIA - DEC 7, 2011
20/11 Draught on a random bar in Cesky Krumlov. It poured dark reddish brown body with medium sized head. Fine caramel and brown sugar aroma. Flavor is also nice, offering some dark malts like caramel, toffee, a bit of licorice. Fuller in body, quite cloying as of the sweetness, long, even slightly warming sugary and caramel finish. Would have bet it contains more alcohol, actually the rich malt is the reason. Not bad at all, at contrary very good Czech dark beer, where this one is more Dunkel, but listed as Schwarz, oppositely of few others I’ve tried around that are listed as Dunkels but they’re definitely not. Oh well...
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 DSG (3005) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - OCT 13, 2011
Bottle. Very dark brown, almost black-colored, with a stable medium beige head. Malty aroma of caramel, some roastiness, coffee notes, some toasted bread and light nutty notes. Sweetish malty flavor with toasty/roasty notes, some caramel, coffee and nuts and a drier finish with light herbal notes. Light to medium-bodied. A decent Tmavé.

On tap at the brewery. Pours nearly black with a big foamy head rising above the rim of the mug. Lots of dark roasty notes and a funky earthiness that turned off some in our group but I found quite enjoyable.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Derek881 (729) - Frederick, Maryland, USA - OCT 2, 2011
I enjoyed a couple pints of this beer on tap at the brewery in Cesky Krumlov, and it was excellent. It had a dark brown color with a slight dark red hue, with a big creamy off-white head that had great retention and good cling. The aroma features notes of cereal, caramel malt, oats, and some earthy hops. It tasted fairly sweet with flavors of cereal and caramel, and a touch of bitterness. The beer was wet and creamy, with a full and smooth mouthfeel.
