3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Quack-Duck (5921) - Down South, - APR 25, 2008
bottle, bought at the brewery. Clear pale golden colour, large and creamy head. Hoppy nose. Full-bodied, pleasantly malty with very aromatic grassy hops. Hints of lemon, slightly fruity. Lovely lingering hoppy-bitter dry finish. Great stuff.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Bierkrug (1666) - Idar-Oberstein (In East Africa), Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - OCT 14, 2010
On tap in Austria. Pours like most Pils golden and with a frothy white head. Aroma is hoppy but sweet for a Pils. Taste is like wise, hoppy but very sweet for a Pils. Almost like a Helles with lots of carb action. Palate is also mellow for a Pils. If you are a Pils fan you will be disapointed but as a beer is it nice to drink. Think of it as a Helles someone added tons of bubbles to.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 pivnizub (7234) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - JUL 19, 2008
Bottle (thanks to Stefan !): Golden, smaller lacy head; light aromatic hoppy nose; light to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied; papery traces in the lingering hoppy-malty finish. O.K., not too great...........
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 MoritzF (7386) - Bochum, GERMANY - JUL 14, 2008
(33cl bottle, courtesy of Quack-Duck) Clear, greenish golden colour with a short foamy white head. Slightly sweet and doughy malt aroma with herbal, slightly grassy hoppy notes. Sweet-bitter flavour, soft malty base with herbal hops, getting stronger and slightly grassy towards the moderately dry and bitter hoppy finish. A bit imbalanced but otherwise pretty drinkable (14.08.08).
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Geiserich (2338) - Vienna, AUSTRIA - NOV 15, 2005
Bottled:
Nice frothy, huge head, pale golden color, lively carbonation. Light hoppy, light grainy aroma. Flavor is light malty, light sweet, a acid note and a light herbal hoppiness. Quite weak and unbalanced. Finish is very astringent, light hoppy and metallic bitter. Not what I expected of a pils.
