Bottle in Iceland 2008. Pale amber with a malty nose and spiky carbonation. Thin and sweet.

ulfarlinnet (14) - 220 Hafnarfjörður, ICELAND - MAR 20, 2008
As a special Easter beer this one is standing rather close to the standard beers of Ölgerðin. The beer is light in color, watery, with little foam and has only a hint of malt taste. The main balance is between hops and alcohol. The beer is not bitter but on the bitter side when compared to other lagers from the brewery. The hop aroma is grassy and quiet. This Easter beer lets you know that summer is on its way but it lacks strength and fails to meet the standards set for seasonal beers.

Kalli (502) - Falun, SWEDEN - MAR 18, 2004
Aroma hints at slight caramilization, but the golden colour hardly backs it up. Somehow watery looking though, but the head mostly nips off silently. Otherwise the aroma initiallly feels slightly soapy and I could smell that this was from Egils a mile away, which really is no good thing. Still, the aroma is okay with perhaps a bit of germanesque grassiness. Much too thin on the palate with some grainy dough flavour. Simple, mostly inoffensive and fairly boring. Not all that bad though really, it's actually drinkable making it one of Egils better offerings.

This brew could be so much better with a bit more Plato. It is too watery, but the taste and body are fine.

Straw colour. Grassy nose with bready malt. Very light doughiness but otherwise rather bland.

daboskabouter (1470) - Fergus, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 2, 2003
Splarking pale yellow color. Not much in the nose save a little grass. Body is spritzy but has a nice crisp hop bitterness, finishes long. Nice pils.

JorisPPattyn (6729) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - APR 11, 2003
Clear orange - old gold; little white head, disappearing. Nose of grain and slight odour of ambrée malt. Taste is a bit herbal, like bog-myrtle aroma. Slight sourish from carbonation around the slight sweetish malt. Bitter finish, not harsh. Mouthfeel is watery but refreshing. It has been stated before somewhere - malt must be very expensive in the Northern Wastes. This is not a bad beer - just too much water.
