COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Egils Premium beer is the product of a unique effort that has been the characteristik mark of The Egill Skallagrímsson Brewery for a whole century. The production process is longer, the malt is masked twice and fermantation is slower and last but not least Icelandic barley is used. Altogether this gives Egils Premium a distinct quality of softness and full-bodied taste.

Medium coarseish offwhite head. Paleish yellow body with light carbonation. Mealy yeasty sugary aroma with metallic notes. Dry-sweetish mealy peas and sugar taste with yeasty notes. Mid-bodied. Dusty mouthfeel. Dry grassy mealy yeasty aftertaste. Argh. Poor. Like bad homebrew with yeast problems. (0.5 can shared by KnutAlbert.)

500 ml can, as Egils Premium Export, from Rúsan, Tórshavn. ABV is 5.7%. Pale golden colour, large white head. Moderate sweetish "industrial" aroma, hints of wet cardboard. The flavour is first medium sweet, some acidic fruity notes, hints of cardboard again, some bitterness in the dry and dusty finish. No masterpiece this one.

Aroma: generic Eurotrash pale lager scent - grainy, some skunkiness

Appearance: See above. Forms a nice head, though with impressive lacing.

Taste: See above again. Bland, dry, watery. Slightly sour tang in the finish. Refreshing but not satisfying.

Mouthfeel: light, fairly watery, soft, uncarbonated.

Drinkability: very smooth, slighty sour aftertaste.

Overall: rather unremarkable very generic European lager. Somewhat refreshing and highly drinkable but nothing to truly enjoy here.
