Guter Verlauf, guter Geschmack - stimmt.Test vom 7.11.2009, Gebinde: Glasflasche

Grima (2074) - Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - JAN 21, 2011
A dark brown Bock with a nice red cast pours into the glass. The creamy head unfortunately disappears relatively quickly. The smell is surprisingly restrained, almost too lax for a Bockbier. Only a little sweet malt comes through. The Bock starts malty and earthy, subtly bitter coffee and roasted malts with nutty hints. The aftertaste is increasingly nutty roasted malt and bitter. As with all Eibauer beers that I’ve rated so far: no high flyer, but always high average!

It’s dark, red-brown with a huge, creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel, bread and nuts. The flavour is sweet with notes of roasted malt, caramel, bread, nuts and light chocolate before the dry finish. It’s full-bodied, well-balanced and nice, thanks Fonefan/Jan!

Bottle (from Koelschtrinker). Mildly astringent chocolate barley malt aroma. Dark red-brown color with large head. Sweet chocolate malt flavor with a moderate astringent/metallic finish. Body a bit light. Nice easy drinking dunkler bock.

Bottle: Clear, deep chestnut-amber coloured, big and lasting beige head with a little lace; light to moderate chocolaty, caramelly and roast-malty nose with dried fruits and some hops; moderate sweet-bitter (almost a bit fruity) flavour; slightly lingering, well rounded malty-fruity and also a bit hoppy finish. Good and pleasant, but inoffensive DDR-Bock......

(bottle, courtesy of kappldav123) Clear, dark brown colour with a big and beige foamy head. Moderately sweet and roasted malty nose with ashy notes, caramel and a tinge of chocolate. Sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with a calm carbonation. Roasty malty, slightly ashy and earthy taste with caramel, cacao and leather; medium-dry sweet-bitter toasty malty finish with a rounded hoppy and roasty bitterness. All in all pretty good, much better when it warms. 28.XII.09
