UPDATED: DEC 23, 2012 Malty beer, low in alcohol and soft sweetnes, hints of hop. Good beer for desserts containing chocolate. Gutes und gehaltvolles Bier mit viel Restsüße und wenig Alkohol. Nahrhaftes Fastenbier und guter Begleiter zu süßem Nachtisch.

Germany is not a country for porters. The country brews the most amazing lager beers of all kinds, but the Porter is just not the country’s tradition. This porter has an overly sweet aroma of brown sugar and raisins and the taste is also very sweet and almost sticky. It has faint notes of dark rye bread, hard toasted malt and dried fruits, but the richness taken over by an overly brown sugar sweetness that does not fit the type. At the same time the strength is very low and it is as such nothing wrong with that but it lacks strength, roubstness and fill in a degree which unfortunately makes it bland and tame. However, it is drinkable, but certainly not worthy of the porter title.

(2) Not worth trying. A simple beer. Sweet. Too sweet. I was mistakenly taken back by the sweetness. Low malt.

500ml bottle. Clear, faint, mahogany colour with average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Sweet, muggy, grainy, wet strawy aroma, mouldy, fungous, asparageous. Taste is artificially sweet, root beer like. Disastrous, undrinkable.

Bottle. DMS and metalic notes in aroma, not a porter from appearance - brown. In taste awful, same notes as in aroma. God it was bad.
