Reddish brown body. White head. Moderate lacing. Smell is sweet smokey malt. Taste is the same with notes of nuts and a mild hoppy finish. Mild carbonation with a thin creamy mouthfeel. good beer.

Die Schaumkrone hält mittelmäßig, trüb und dunkle Farbe. Geschmacklich leicht hopfig, malzig, die malzigkeit ist auch im Nachgeschmack noch vertreten. Fazit: Trinkbar hatte aber mehr erwartet. Test vom 22.5.2009, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,8,8,9,10,8 - 8,35

from bottle, purchased at mannheim central station. red, slightly hazy colour with a frothy, two-finger head. the aroma is quite fruity, didn’t expect this at all from this beer. heavy malty notes, some earthy hops. chocolate mixed wirth strawberry, wow, it smells like a chocolate bar with strawberry yogurt, hints of vanilla as well. the aroma is really appealing! so let’s give it a taste. medium sweet taste in the beginning, then it turn to a sort of bitterness. fruity, malty flavour, almost as the aroma. light to medium body, quite creamy. yeah, this is a good one! damn, I should have bought more of those than the rather poor pils from the same brewery....

Clear brown colour. Almost no head. The flavour is caramelly, dusty and slightly spicy. Low to medium bitterness.

500 ml bottle. Pours rather brown then red (as its name suggests) and a bit hazy. Probably a little hint of redness. Nevertheless it looks quite good because of its big and frothy head. Smells spicy, floral/grass or even a bit roasty. tastes really spicy, a bit roasty too. medium bodied and average carbonization. at the end palatable bitterness but not so much taste of the hops. quite good.

The beer in the glass is dark and slightly hazy. The smell is sweet and roasted malty. Starts with lots of roasted malts, slightly sweet, with hints of caramell. The aftertaste is very malty sweet. The further course gets more mild and palatable, the sweet malts grow up, very much!

Malziger Antrunk, im Mittelteil deutlich würziger werdend. Hier leicht herb, auch dieser Ton wird mit der Zeit stärker, und schokoladig. Prickelnd, mild-aromatisch, im Abgang werden die meisten Aromen milder, hier noch malzig-würzig, trotz der Milde angemessen aromatisch. Die Herbe ist nun hintergründig. 500 ml fkip-top bottle in Germany at home, and thanks to shubber85 for this as well. This pours a red-brown color with an off white head, Aroma is weak malt, and some sweet bread. Taste is more sweet bread and malt. Palate is weak but no unpleasent. As others have said this is not really a Dunkel. I would classify it as a Vienna.

Bottle. Red brown color with small white head. Aroma, red fruit, roasted malt, caramel. Taste, red fruit, toffee, hints of milk chocolate. Nice long bittersweet finish. Drinkable beer.

Bottle. Reddish brown with a thin white head. Sweet ale like aroma. Flavour is dull malt and has a nice ale like finish.
