(bottle) Cloudy, golden colour with a blond and tall foamy head. Distinctively banana-fruity aroma with wheaty notes and mildly phenolic spice. Sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a well-carbonated mouthfeel. Yeasty, banana-fruity taste with a present wheat-character; sweet and bana-fruity finish with a mildly clovy touch. Archetypical for a contemporary Hefeweizen from Germany. 13.II.12

It’s unclear, yellow-golden with a huge, creamy and lasting head. The aroma has notes of banana, banana peel, yeast and wheat. The sweet flavour has notes of yeast, banana, wheat and a little banana peel. The finish is dry and spicy.

Unclear medium yellow colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is light malty, wheat, moderate yeasty, fruity, bubble gum, clove. Flavour is moderate sweet with a average to long duration, clove, bubble gum. Body is medium, texture is watery - creamy, carbonation is soft. [20111126]

Bottle. Surprisingly clear for a weissbier, golden-orange in color and with a dense, two-finger off-white head leaving lacings. Banana and bubble gum aroma with a touch of cloves. Some wheaty notes and lemon hints. The flavor has banana and bubble gum dominating, leaving room for some lemony notes and cloves. Smooth on the palate, although with an appropriate level of carbonation, semi-dry and medium bodied. Some notes of metal in the very end. A decent weissbier, not competing with the best, but fine anyway. 111126

Bierkrug (1666) - Idar-Oberstein (In East Africa), Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - SEP 23, 2011
500 ml bottle in Germany, from Wasanas. This poured the normal cloudy orange Hefe pour with a full creamy head. Lots of clove and spices in the nose. Taste is very spicy for a Hefe, again cloves, spices and some faint bananas. Palate is smoth and mellow. Really not bad at all. I think they have changed the reciepe since 2008.
