Murky light brown with highlights of orange, off white head which doesnt last. Cloves, orange zest, cinnamon and spice in the nose. Sour in the flavour, with more big cloves and spice, along with some boiled vegetables. Theres some background hop bitterness too. Softly carbonated, big enough body. More sourness in the finish along with some alcohol warmness.

330ml shared at home. pours a hazy ruby gold, good lacing on the glass. Horribly sharp aroma of pickles, cinnamon, cloves, orange, figs. Kind of burns the back of the nose. Taste is initial strong sourness, little bit of sweetness and bitterness comes after. Again quite acidic. Spiced finish. Bit watery on the mouthfeel too. Overall, quite poor, I thought, had such high hopes for this and I wish it could have been better.

Bottle says 7% OH.Pours a very, very hazy orange with a 2-2.5 inch tall creamy, ivory colored head. Aroma is not very appealing and actually smells a bit off with all of the spices present. Very strong clove mixed with the orange and anise makes a very unique but unappealing aroma as its way too spicy and almost no "beer" character comes through. Flavor matches the nose. Very strong clove up front followed by an intense orange/clove and light anise for the rest of the taste. The Munich and Fuggles present in this brew are completely lost on my palate. Body is light with a modest amount of carbonation. The brew does have great lacing left on the glass. Overall I didn’t care for this beer one bit. The nose was a bit of a turn off and the flavor was too overpoweringly spiced to make it enjoyable. Maybe if this were drank in combination with some holiday sweets or dessert, it may of been a bit more palatable.

Pint at the Black Sheep in Dublin. Very strong aroma of cinnamon. Taste good but might get tiring. But I recommend it for 1

330ml bottle. With the snow outside I couldn’t have picked a better night to open this one. Pours out an orangey brown into my chalice and could pass as a Belgian with its fluffy, lasting head. Lots of nice spices and orange peel in the aroma. Saffron, cinnamon and anise amongst them. Smells green and leafy. Candied oranges and Turkish delight in the taste. Quite bready with a spice-filled ending. Pretty nice but I think I’d prefer the same beer with darker malts.

Dark amber, rusty pour with a good frothy. Aroma: Christmas in a glass. Clove, cinnamon, apple, fig, malty caramel, hops. Taste: tart and sweet. An array of festive flavours with all of the above present on the palate. Delicious

Draught. Cloudy red with a thin head. Tastes of Christmas, you name it its in there, curious as to what it would taste like warm

Bottle courtesy of ACD, cheers Alex! Pours clean auburn with foamy meringue head, out-of-this-world aroma, fragrant from 3 feet away, candy, clove, nutmeg, some anise, citrus oils, a bit of rumminess, outstanding, flavor is a huge hit of orange peel accented by some lightly toasty malts, light and moderately thin body, finishes pretty sour, really very unique and enjoyable

garthicus (2336) - Dublin, IRELAND - NOV 21, 2012
On tap at The Brew Dock. Appearance: Ruby red, small off white head. Body somewhat cloudy. Aroma: amazing, cinnamon, Christmas pudding, pumpkin & roast squash with Christmas spices. Flavour: Bitter, flavour is slightly less Christmas-sy than the flavour but that’s a good thing, lovely balance of the spices and malts, again Christmas pudding and winter spices, cloves and cinnamon, Long sweet finish. Very nice indeed.

A dark red to copper colour with a small white head. Aroma of malts, citrus and spice with a flavour to match. --- BeerItsNice
