11.2oz bottle - pours pale straw with white head. Nose is floral and a little bread. Fairly malty for the style, but still mildly bitter with some grassiness. Refreshing and definitely out of season.

bartlebier (2820) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - JUL 25, 2013
33cl bottle. Classically "Northern" Pils of the Jever family, with potent bittering hops and underdosed aroma hops, faintly citric, too metallic mf and a not so appealing greenish "quality", as if underbrewed and squeezed from unyielding grassy hops and unripe straw malts. Nose of pregnant cardboard and some lemon extract. Eager to taste what the "edelherb" version can add to this mid-Northern mainstay, originally true-to-style Pils (has this been watered down over time? Label mentions whole hops, no extract...)

Thanks to Cavie for sharing this bottle. Yellow with a white head. The aroma is full of bread and grass notes. The flavor is more of the same, with some sweet malt, light hop bitterness and strong grass notes. Thin mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

McTapps (6044) - Ruhrcity, GERMANY - FEB 9, 2013
UPDATED: FEB 10, 2013 Einbecker is such a bitter beer-producing brewery that it is hard to believe some people will drink their (or this) beer more than once. First nose was of old fish, second one of old oat cookies. Taste of bitter hops, old cereals, grass and straw. Just too bitter, too light-bodied and too unenjoyable.

Bottle. Pours cæear pale golden with airy, quickly vanishing white head. Clear, bitter, hoppy aroma. Watery mouthfeel. Bitter taste of hop, distorted by a metallic finish. Dry aftertaste. Not much to write home about, but drinkable.
