Draft as the trendier schwarzbier. Dark brown color, beige coca cola head. Aroma of malted milk balls. Taste has cocoa and coffee, light body. I guess we need a "trendy" tag.

Caramel, a hint of dried fruit, bread, maybe some slight smoke or something like that. Very refreshing, but with some flavor as well.

Bottle, somehow put in their schwarzbier bottle. I get dark fruits (plums), caramel, and some roasted malts. Taste is sweet finishing dry.

Root-beer dark brown with a 5-mm coarse, foamy tan head that lingers as a thin film. Aroma is lager, pumpernickel, with a bit of sour dough and a hint of raw sugar. Body is medium-light, watery, a bit starchy, with soft, light, fat carbonation of medium-light intensity with pretty much no burn. Flavor is whole grain bread, touch of pumpernickel and grass, some slight grain sweetness, bread crust on the exhale. Clean with minimal bitterness. I am very impressed with the multifaceted bready notes in this beer. Body is top notch.

Bottle here in the US, labelled as "Schwarzbier". Pours with little head. Quite dark, looks jet black unless I hold it up to the light, and then looks a dark reddish-brown. Aroma is strong, suggests molasses, caramel, dried fruit, overripe fruit, and a hint of vinegar. Smells surprisingly boozy, for the low alcohol content. Thick body, rich, heavy. Flavor a mix of sweet, sour, bitter, and savory flavors. Carbonation very slight, imparting only a hint of prickly sensation. I prefer lighter-bodied Dunkels. For how low the ABV was on this one, it was awful boozy and heavy, qualities I don’t like. I do like the complexity of this beer’s aroma, though. If you like imperial stouts, and you want something a little less alcoholic, this might be a good choice; this beer seemed pretty much like an imperial stout in flavor, aroma, and body.

Dark lager with thick, creamy foam. Feels like silk on the tongue until a bitter brussel sprouts/ruccola-like aftertaste kicks in. The main taste is creamy, soft and sweet, in the middle between pilseners and red ales.

It pours a very dark brown with reddish hues shining through. Roasted malt in the smell along with a distinct hoppy bitterness. Roasted malt bitterness up front with a biscuit malt and grain kick backing that up. Light bodied with medium carbonation. A very good Schwarzbier.

Old rating rerated 29.07.2014, 0,33l bottle @ Artemis, Celle:
Big creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly rich and sweet, caramel malts, nuts, "knekk", hay, grass, hops, hints of chocolate. Taste is slightly dry roasted, caramel malts, hay, burnt caramel, soy sauce, coffee, grass hops. Medium bitterness, slightly dry mouthfeel. Nice.
