Bottle @ Broken Benzai tasting. Clear amber colour with a small, creamy beige head. Smells some alcohol, malts.. Not a lot of smell. Tastes malty, slightly nutty, slightly caramel. Medium body, soft carbo.

Pours clear and ruby red in the light and brick otherwise. Fizzing off-white head that fades quickly to a half-coat. Aroma is sweet, lightly toasted malts and winter-spiced bread. Taste is much the same but sweet darkfruit notes are prevalent with the booze-soaked bready malts. Much caramel and toffee as well. Hops are hard to find, but there is a slight backend bitterness. Slick on the palate and a bit fizzy. A good dbock but a touch too sweet. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: SEP 21, 2014 Dark red amber crystall clear in colour with a medium fading light tan head. Aromas of sugar, pine, caramel malt, dark dried fruits and some bready aromas arises. A light fizzy note with slick light malt somewhat velvety texture. Rather sweet with a notch of dryness/bitterness offering flavours of dried fruits, pine and caramel. Offers notes of brown sugar molasses medium-full bodied with a lasting malt-sweet finish.

Poured a reddish amber color. Clear. No haze or bottle sediment. No head to speak of. Very sweet malty cherry taste. Not enough carbonation to cut the sweetness. Overall it's a so so beer.

Dark red-brown colour. Aroma of dark malts but also some dried fruits. Flavour has a similar fruity edge adding some depth to a pleasant and full flavoured bock.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear brown with ruby tones. Two finger tan head which fades into a cap and leaves minimal lacing. Nose is dark fruit and malt with a whiff of yeast. Taste is malt and dark fruit, slightly sweet. Thin mouthfeel which finishes cleanly. Not bad at all.

330 ml bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours fairly crystal clear ruby copper color with a 2 finger fairly dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Slight spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of raisin, plum, apple, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toast, brown bread, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of malt and fruity yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of raisin, plum, apple, caramel, toast, brown bread, brown sugar, toffee, herbal, floral, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of raisin, plum, apple, caramel, toast, brown bread, brown sugar, toffee, herbal, light pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and complexity of malt and fruity/earthy yeast ester flavors; with solid robustness and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth and fairly slick mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good doppelbock style. Good balance and complexity of malt and fruity yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A nicely enjoyable offering.
