3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml Bottle, Cap. Distinctive caramel taste, malty, light alcoholic. Brown, clear appearance with quite nice light-brown head. Thin for a Doppelbock with a light bitter finish which stays long in the mouth. Overall a mediocre, but enjoyable Doppelbock. Poor texture might kill the fun.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Strong dried fruit aroma, with some coffee/dark chocolate bitterness in the flavor. Dark nut brown with thick foamy head. Not bad, but smoother dopplebocks are available, like Paulaner Salvator.

Bottle shared with MichaelBruch. Taste of rich, thick caramel and hints of full-ripe grains. Little bit sour, but only a slight hint. Nice and very special beer, what I really like. Bought in 330 ml swing-top bottle for 80 Euro-Cents.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
500mL Bottle. Thanks Sean! Any day is a good day for a pilsner-malt-based beer, I say and today is no exception, this beer fitting the bill nicely. Caramels plunge the depth of grassy barley fields and warm summer sun. A beer may be made for winter, but it’s born in the sunny, hot days. I like the toffee and brown sugar play here, it’s satiny, refined, and cleansing. Bits of cherry bubble through. A very nice example from the old world.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Amber pour, mostly clear. Light tan head. Aroma is musty caramel malt and grain. Moderate to full palate - has some heft. Taste is a very nicely balanced sweet caramel, a touch of fruit, and some grain. Decent.
