Light brown translucent, fluffly foam that collapses immediately. Smells of cherries and nuts. Creamy texture, good carbonization. Thin in its somewhat Christmassy taste.

Mellanmörk med obefintligt skum. Smaken mkt maltig med ytterst lite sötma. Eftersmaken lång med bränd, lite pepprig, karamell. Tämligen mkt kolsyra för öltypen.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
It pours a very dark gold/brown with a 1 finger of white foam. Another brew with fine lacing.
I have to say that the smell is awesome. Lots of caramel malt with a wee bit of grain, maybe a hint or two of chocolate.
The very same taste wise. A bit of a stronger grain presence but not out of line for the style at all.
Smooth mouth feel, almost at the top of the food chain as far as Doppelbocks that I have tried. Just as good as Celebrator, imho

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Beautifully dark brownish red with dirty yellowish foam, like I like it. Smells oddly cheesy with hints of sex, but also a good feeling of alcohol. Tastes like malt, alcohol, rock candy and a bit of soy. Too alcohol-intensive for my taste, but not by much.

Bottle 33cl, a clear amber red beer with low head. Nose is on toasted barley and barley sugar. Aroma is malty with nut and prune touch, tannic touch, dry grapes notes, bit vinous at the finish. Robust bock.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Dark orange/pink body, with no mentionable head. Aromas of lager malt, rather skunky, with a good dose of raspberry. Malty spicy and piney on the flavour, with raisins and a warm alcohol finish. Not my favourite style, but quite good when taken with Russian oysters!

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Rated on 4-22-2011 at JK O’Donnell’s Irish Ale House, Fort Wayne, IN. This draft beer has a small beige head that quickly dissipates, reddish orange transparent body, no visible carbonation, and no lacing. The aroma is caramel malt and a suggestion of dark fruits. The taste is moderately sweet, caramel malt and dark fruits. The mouthfeel is soft carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. This is just a so-so doppelbock. The flavor fell short for the style which is disappointing as doppelbocks are one of my favorite beer styles.
