Bottle. Dark, reddish amber with a thin tan head. Rich earthy aroma with some spice and pine. Very full flavor with a slight effervescence - toasted malt, slightly sweet with some coffee and spice. Slight bitter undertone nicely offsets the sweetness. Very nice.

Beautiful dark reddish amber. Creamy, but short lived head. Fat, sweet malt on the nose. Sweet malty flavour with notes of raisins, currants, toffee and hazel nuts. Warming alcohol finish. Well balanced and tasty.

fresh deep malt and barley toasted right from the farm. some sweetness and alcohol it is a bit slick yet refreshing with little evidence of hop, until the finish. beautiful orange color and aroma this is what i like in a malty brew. a tart, tangy sideshow character of something like carrot on Maple leaf, how do those Germans make that fine, definitive beer?

Aroma is caramel and intense maltiness. The flavor is malty and mildly nutty, with a lasting caramel flavor. Very solid Doppelbock.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear brown with ruby tones. Two finger tan head which fades into a cap and leaves minimal lacing. Nose is dark fruit and malt with a whiff of yeast. Taste is malt and dark fruit, slightly sweet. Thin mouthfeel which finishes cleanly. Not bad at all.

Very good beer. I really enjoyed the rich, traditional winter-beer flavor, despite the minimal spice and extra junk. I think its clean, rich, malty, nutmeg, brown sugar, and spice all work nicely. Its quite well developed and really engineered to a T. Try this one if you are into German Winter style beers. Its great

courtesy of oh6gdx - slightly hazy ruby-brown colour and with a poor head retention; robust malty aroma with notes of caramel and cookies; gently spicy; subtle carbonation and a solid malt backbone, some sweetness and with a quite dry finish with more lingering notes of caramel and a gentle warming alcohol touch

500mL Bottle. Thanks Sean! Any day is a good day for a pilsner-malt-based beer, I say and today is no exception, this beer fitting the bill nicely. Caramels plunge the depth of grassy barley fields and warm summer sun. A beer may be made for winter, but it’s born in the sunny, hot days. I like the toffee and brown sugar play here, it’s satiny, refined, and cleansing. Bits of cherry bubble through. A very nice example from the old world.
