Festival of Iowa Beers 2009, labeled as Einfach Oktoberfest. Pours a translucent copper with a good tight medium white head. The aroma is nice and nutty, yeasty and autumnal, if just a tad faint. the flavor is dry nutty and roasty, simple but exceptional Marzen.

On draught at the Great Taste of Midwest 2009 in Madison, Wisconsin as Old Man Einfach Oktoberfest. Pours a semi-clear copper orange colored brew with a decent off-white head that slowly dissipates and leaves behind some spotty lacing. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, a hint of roasted nuts, toffee and some flowery hops. Taste is medium bodied, with flavors and profile close to a Munich style Oktoberfest with caramel malt, toffee and roasted nuts. Finish is semi-dry with a malty and flowery hop aftertaste.

Festival of Iowa Beers 2009. Poured a clear light orange color with a fluffy off white head. I smelled a bit of toffee and pale malt. Light bodied with mild bitterness. Dryish with a bit of grass flavor that was eclipsed by a dominant grape candy note.
